I received this as a gift recently. I have never heard of any of the artists on it, but I will tell you it is excellent. The tone of the songs has that "get your blood pumpin'" feeling. All of the songs seem very original to me. They are very heavy on the percussion (some primative) instruments. 1. It would be an excellent CD to showcase different cultures in a music class setting, with a discussion. Listen to each song, then find where it came from on a globe with your children. Some of the songs are in English, but it doesn't really matter what they are saying because each song sounds great. Music brings the world closer together, and this CD really proves that.

I bought the first Playground cd and loved it so much, I'm glad they finally made a second. Not only did my children enjoy it, but I found myself buying albums form the various artists represented.
It is a great cd to play in the car while driving your kids around from place to place. They will not only benefit from hearing music but learn a little bit about different cultures through the different languages sung and rhythms produced. I would recommend buying this and the first cd.
