This is NOT practical to use as a real bird house. There are gaps between
all the slats, and it doesn't hang straight no matter what you do!(not balanced at all) I thought even though it was cheap, I could make it work with "help" -- but I was wrong!

This style of bird house was chosen because of the top hanger so it can be hung from a tree branch. The materials used as the price would suggest are fairly cheap, but the main frame is solidly stapled. The glued on decorative fringes probably will not last much weathering, but I doubt if the tenants will mind. The only problem is there is no way to get at the inside to clean out old nests.
Overall, a favorable purchase, a little better than I expected for the price.

Got this as an anniversary gift. Looks cute on a tree in the backyard. Seems to withstand the elements. Not sure it is totally practical for birds to use though.
