From Library Journal
This is a study in the techniques of the world's most popular sport. It is one of the best of the many books on soccer in print. There are ample diagrams and illustrations. The author, an experienced coach and soccer writer, is knowledgeable, and all of the game's basics are covered. There are skill drills for players at all levels of ability, and on the whole they are lucidly explained. The book will be useful to the medium- or advanced-level player, but more particularly to coaches. Libraries in areas where there is appreciable interest in soccer, together with those of academic institutions that have soccer teams, should acquire this. James A.
