Experienced swing dancers will steal the spotlight with the snazzy steps, variations, and styling techniques from this 80-minute instructional swing dance video. Nimble and enthusiastic instructors Marcus Koch and Bärbl Kaufer, winners of many swing dance championships in Germany and internationally, are terrific dancers and excellent instructors. They teach an assortment of sugar push variations, whip styling, flying lindy, breaks (such as the quick stop and the freeze), circles, slides, kicks, and spins. Some moves are show-stoppers, such as Gil's slip. After a few moves, they demonstrate the steps to music. Keep the tape rolling after the credits and you'll see seven peppy minutes of the instructors jamming. On this video Marcus & Bärbl will teach you more of the great Hollywood Style of Lindy Hop. You will dig deeper in the varieties and variations of steps and learn more about the styling. This video will improve your dancing a lot.

This video builds on the World of Swing video “#1 – 40s Hollywood Style”. If you are new to the Hollywood Style of Lindy Hop we recommend you to start with that video, which covers the foundation.

Marcus & Bärbl set great store by getting you a good foundation and feeling for the dance. You will learn more of the typical steps and their variations that form the character of Hollywood Style. Every step is broken down and well explained. Marcus & Bärbl also put big emphasis on the leading and following for each step. It makes you able to understand the dance, to feel comfortable on the dance floor, to make it look easy, and to have fun.

All steps in the World of Swing series are demonstrated to great music that will stick in your ears and makes your feet wanna move. As a bonus you can see Marcus & Bärbl jamming together with other great swing dancers after the instructional part on all the videos.

And most important of all: Don’t take dancing too serious. It’s all about having fun. You will see it when you watch the videos of Marcus & Bärbl.

Excellent video for smooth style Lindy! 35+ moves all well broken down and demonstrated with panache. Especially helpful for fast dancing. Has plenty of syncopations and styling for both leads and follows. All moves socially leadable; very little choreography. This is THE BEST advanced Lindy video.

As an 8-year experienced ballroom dancer, I've seen many instructional videos and met many instructors. This one is among the best, not just because I like it. It offers: * More steps than the average instructional videos. * Well broken down and well explained. * After the instructional part you can see the instructors and also other dancers jamming for several minutes (not just a few seconds like in other videos). * The explanations are treated with sense of humour. * They use really good music in it (good versions of classic and new artists). And, if you (like me) are not native English-speaking, you get an extra-advantage!: their English is easier to follow than most native (English or American) instructors.

When you have practice in Hollywood Style this video give you new variations in your dance and should be in your collection. The Instructors Marcus & Bärbl were thorough and easy to follow. The dance steps are broken down for both, the guy and girl. We know Marcus & Bärbl for a long time and we promise they have a lot of experience in teaching and competing.
