About the Actor

Marcus & Bärbl are originally from Munich, Germany. They already dance together for more than 10 years and are famous swing dancers and teachers all over the world. Through competitions, teaching, and their worldwide available instructional videotapes they were responsible for bringing Swing in many corners of the globe. Their excellent knowledge of many different Swing styles was achieved by long hours studying the original dance scenes frame by frame and by working personally with the best dance masters from the original Hollywood movies, like Gil Bradey (“Don’t Knock The Rock”), Jean Veloz (“Swing Fever”, “Groovie Movie”), Frankie Manning (“Hellzapoppin’”), etc.

Marcus & Bärbl won the German Championship in Boogie Woogie five times in a row, have been World Champion 1993, World Vice Champion 1995/97/98, got 3rd place in the World Lindy Hop Championship 1999/2000, and won tons of other titles. They received the Feather Award 1996 (Dancers’ Choice) for “The Most Outstanding Global Swing Dancer" and again 1997 for ”The Best Swing Dancers Outside The USA”. Beside competing and teaching Marcus & Bärbl are also successful choreographers and performers.

With an excellent synthesis of Boogie Woogie, Lindy Hop and Hollywood Style they formed their own style with an own outstanding character. This unique character, their happiness, and their enormous energy made them so popular all over the World. But besides all of these merits their teaching is a guarantee for a lot of fun and laughing that reflects the soul of Swing dancing.

On this video Marcus & Bärbl will teach you fast & fancy footwork for different styles of swing. This makes your swing dance really exciting, individual and varied. If you really want to improve your dancing this video is just right for you. Step into a new dimension and learn variations, so that you will be able to choose a step that fits the music.

For this video you need to have experience in some style of swing dancing. You also should have some towels and fresh T-shirts within reach. Some people consider this as the best work out video they’ve ever had.

The video consists of two sections: - Section 1 shows you a lot of different variations in exercise format. (In Australia these exercise routines became already line dances). - Section 2 teaches you different figures and exciting combinations, which contain some of the variations from section 1.

All steps in the World of Swing series are demonstrated to great music that will stick in your ears and makes your feet wanna move. As a bonus you can see Marcus & Bärbl jamming together with other great swing dancers after the instructional part on all the videos.

And most important of all: Don’t take dancing too serious. It’s all about having fun. You will see it when you watch the videos of Marcus & Bärbl.

The video is of good quality with ample lighting and sound. The footwork is advanced and better suited to an intermediate or advanced level of dance. The steps are fast and flashy. The movements are presented from different angles which enhanced my comprehension. Anyone mastering these movements will definitely be a stand-out on the dance floor.

I find Marcus Koch to be an excellent instructor who demonstrates complicated moves in an uncomplicated way. The steps are danced, broken down in sequences, then danced to music. I am an intermediate-level swing dancer and find this method very helpful.

For anyone seeking some cool, non-aerial swing steps, this is the video. I own three WOS tapes and this is the one that has impressed me the most.

Swing dancing based on fabulous, confortable and cool footwork. This tape includes firstly ideas how to practise it and secondly how to use it in dancing. This is the videotape for those who are looking for more techniques and flamboyance to dancing.

This video is both a great way to add style to your dancing as well as get a good workout. Perhaps the most difficult part of dancing is feeling the beat and adding a "pulse" to your dancing steps - this video will help you decide which steps go well with different paces of music as well as give you some style to show off.

The first part of this video is a great workout or a great warmup for a dance class. The second part of this video is a bunch of great routine-style steps that will add flash and "wow" to your dancing. Expect to have people asking you how to do these steps after you show them off.
