5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely beautiful pictures..., December 9, 2001

This review is from: The World Trade Center Remembered (Paperback)
What a wonderful tribute to the World Trade Center. It is a book of little words, just striking photographs of the towers from many vantage points and a brief introduction by Paul Goldberger. It is a collection of photos taken over many years by renowned photographers Sonja Bullaty and Angelo Lomeo that were beautifully put together into four sections: East, South, North, and West.

It is definitely a "must have" book. Like many New Yorkers I didn't have one picture of the WTC, yet I had visited numerous times and now I have many pictures in one great book to treasure.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful WTC remembrance!, January 3, 2002
This review is from: The World Trade Center Remembered (Paperback)
I love this book! It is full of lovely pictures of the World Trade Center, taken from every vantage point over a 27 year period. I was thrilled to receive this as a gift, since it vividly captures the towers as I remember them, and it doesn't include any of the horrific images of 9/11(just a picture of the NYC skyline, with the WTC gone, post-9/11). I have worked near the WTC and commuted through it for years, and am very pleased to have this book as a remembrance of better times. I really recommend it--the pictures are fabulous!

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful tribute!, December 6, 2001

This review is from: The World Trade Center Remembered (Paperback)
This is a beautiful collection of photographs taken of the World Trade Center. The photographs were taken from various vantage points looking at the towers from the north, south, east and west. Sonja Bullaty and Angelo Lomeo do an excellent job of capturing the towers in their true essence; as architectural and structural marvels quietly but proudly standing watch over lower Manhattan while also serving as a point of reference and orientation for NYC residents and tourists alike. The photographs are crisp and clear; some of them are old some new, but always visually striking. Paul Goldberger's text is informative, well written and heartfelt without sounding trite or pretentious. The book also includes a nice publisher's preface and a touching photographer's dedication. Overall, a stirring photographic tribute that would add nicely to any library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-Buy, August 9, 2004
This review is from: The World Trade Center Remembered (Paperback)
This commemorative photo book of the World Trade Center is a must have for all Americans. Remember these spectacular symbols as well as the hope they inspired in New York City and around the world. From the moment they are constructed to how the New York skyline looks today, we view the World Trade Center from every angle. We are not bombarded with images from September 11th, but instead are given the ability to remember these grand buildings at their most beloved state. The photographs in The World Trade Center Remembered are remarkable and no words can describe their passion and splendor. This five-star celebration of the World Trade Center is a must-buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing, March 26, 2002

I feel these books of stories and photos of the people who experienced this tragedy first hand is important for all of us.
The people who lived through it get to see what the rest of the world saw. A look of what they went through which can help them validate the emotions they are feeling.
The folks that witnessed it from a distance get a closer look of what our fellow americans went through.
All of it is a healing process that we need and looking at it through pictures or written stories of our friends will help us understand our human bond living in this beautiful country.
