OLD SCHOOL MEETS NEW SCHOOL!,

This is simple if you like PUNK ROCK buy it! Duane Peters and the band have a lot of credibility in there lyrics and music that i feel are lacking in alot of the new radio friendly PUNK of the ninetys..

Decent punk rock.,

I agree with many that it is not nerely as good as the brilliant WAR BIRTH, but it is still a very good album. It has some great sing-along punk rock in the old skool style, but some songs just aren't as catchy as on WAR BIRTH. Over all, I'd say THE WORLD is a decent modern punk album. It's even better when the songs are live!!

This album is definetly worth checking out if you like bands like Screeching Weasel, Nofx, or the Street Brats. It is kind of a pop/street punk hybrid. If you want amazing vocals then this album might let you down, but if you want the kind of album with sing-along choruses, a bit of edginess, or just a great album to get drunk to while waving your fist in the air this is definetly the gem you're looking for. Personally, it's one of my punk-rock classics, and I do mean punk. If you're looking for cutsie melodic psuedo punk then yeah, you're not going to enjoy this album. Punk from Canada?
That's right!

One Of The Best Hellcat Albums Yet,

This album is in no way supirior to War Birth, but it does hold it's own. Each song is better than the last and is written and sung as only Duane could do it. It's a great album and anyone whose a fan of U.S. Bombs should own it.

not too shabby,

Personally, I thought this album rocked. I read some of the other reviews, and they said it wasn't as good as War Birth, and I can't say that I disagree with them. It's still a really good album though, especially if you like quasi-anarchic old school punk. If you like it, also be sure to check out The Clash, because they're the ones who started it all.

NOT nearly as good as War Birth,

I was dissapointed by this Lp. War Birth is a really good album and I held out alot of hope for this Lp, but it just doesn't quite do it for me. The majority of the songs sound the same. The "chorus" style vocals get very boring, very fast. There was a spark to War birth that is missing with "The World".

Great punk album. This rocks.,
This review is from: World (Audio CD)
IMHO, this is their best album. The songs are top notch as usual, with great lyrics and excellent punk vocals. But on this album I notice more emphasis on chorus singing, plus a better balance of all the instruments and the vocals, to give the songs even more punch and a rocking sound.

Pretty dull.,

Most of the songs on this album sound almost exactly the same. Also, most of the songs sound like a lame attempt to rip of the Clash and other early British punk bands. Overall, The World is pretty monotonous and boring, especially if you're used to hearing classic British punk and not the revitalists. Back at the Laundromat is a much, much better album and is recommended.
