5.0 out of 5 stars World's Best WWII Collection
This unique book features many of the highlights of Ken Rendell's spectacular museum, which is probably the best of its kind anywhere. While it would be almost impossible to be as impressive as the museum itself, the unique format of the book gives readers a "hands on" feel for many of the most interesting items in the museum. For anyone who has been to the museum, it's...

3.0 out of 5 stars Lavish, opinionated, idiosynchratic
This is a 150 page coffee table book set out in a 'srapbook' format with lavish photographs and numerous paper pouches that hold reproduced posters, letters, flyers, etc. typically reduced in size to fit into the book. The pictures and reproductions are the main reason to buy this book. It's compelling to pick it up and just start browsing. Unfortunately, the text is less...

This review is from: World War II: Saving the Reality, A Collector's Vault (Hardcover)
This unique book features many of the highlights of Ken Rendell's spectacular museum, which is probably the best of its kind anywhere. While it would be almost impossible to be as impressive as the museum itself, the unique format of the book gives readers a "hands on" feel for many of the most interesting items in the museum. For anyone who has been to the museum, it's a wonderful reminder of Ken's amazing collection of WWII history. If you want to get new insights into the reality of the War, read this book. Then come visit the museum itself in Natick, Massachusetts, "Home of Champions"!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for World War II collectors, October 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: World War II: Saving the Reality, A Collector's Vault (Hardcover)
I purchased this book for my son who is in the military and a World WarII buff.
When I received this collectors book before I gave it to him I went through it cover to cover and was overwhelmed with the pictures, and on almost all of the pages were different kinds of memorbelia(letters, post cards, pictures, telegrams, etc)
The quality of the illustrations are excellent.
Mr. Rendell has done a terrific job in putting this book together.
I would strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in Worl WarII

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing book and museum, July 4, 2010
This review is from: World War II: Saving the Reality, A Collector's Vault (Hardcover)
I live in Mass. and have visited Kenn's museum and I can tell you that it is one of the finest museum in the country.
Have had the oppertunity to visit most of the museums in this country and this museum rivels them all and the museum has regular presentation with WWII veterens that are amazing to hear and talk too.
The depth of documents are un-imaginable and the book complements kenn's comitment to WWII history
A must book to have in your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars WW11, Saving The Reality, December 21, 2009

This review is from: World War II: Saving the Reality, A Collector's Vault (Hardcover)
I have had the amazing experience to visit The World War11 museum in Natick. Since that first visit, I have returned many times. This private museum "personalizes" the 2nd World War. You feel you were there and feel much of the emotion of the time. This book was written by the creator of this museum to complement the exhibits and expand the experience.

I recommend this book to others who want to experience these times. Those nations who do not learn from the past are subject to repeat the same mistakes which lead to calamity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful reference, December 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: World War II: Saving the Reality, A Collector's Vault (Hardcover)
This is the second time we have given this book as a gift. The recreations of the documents are so real. The descriptions of the incidents of war are short enough to get what you want to know and not get bogged down with other information. Both recipients were very impressed that there even was such a book. Calling it a collector's vault is truly accurate.

5.0 out of 5 stars best WW II museum ever!, December 25, 2010
This review is from: World War II: Saving the Reality, A Collector's Vault (Hardcover)
Rather than reviewing the museum book, I choose to review the museum itself. This is hands down the best military history museum I have ever been to and ranks right up there with the Imperial War Museum in London. The museum is hands-on and contains everything from Enigma machines to spy paraphernalia, as well as weapons including a tank and V2 components. The museum let's the exhibits speak for themselves and the Holocaust and NAZI party artifacts are chilling. It is a private collection that is brilliantly organized. Some people collect stamps, the owner spent decades collecting and preserving WW II artifacts. It is wonderful and generous of him to share his passion with the public. He has done future generations an invaluable service. A must see, but reservations are required and it can take several months.
