It's well thought out and the character development was amazing for how short some of the stories were.
My biggest (and pretty much only) complaint with the book was that in many of the cases I thought the stories ended just as they were getting good!
'World War Z', like Brooks 'Zombie Survival Guide', draws you in until your actually start to live the story.
