5.0 out of 5 stars good time saver
Nice hardcover atlas that lays flat when opened for easy reference. The index includes all of the NPC's and their locations - very handy. Rare mobs and their locations are listed as well as profession and class trainers. Well defined flight-paths help you find and establish routes. The town maps are especially helpful, as they are not always detailed in game. Overall,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not quite worth it
I haven't actually purchased this book, but Amazon won't let me post without giving it a score. However, I just want to point out to any WoW newbies interested in buying it that many things change in Azeroth, meaning this atlas will become more and more incorrect as time passes. Flight paths have changed more than once, as have the locations of various NPCs. Also,...

Very nice, but as previously mentioned, the maps themselves are fairly low-resolution blowups, not high-quality images. Also, the book does not contain maps of the various instances (Molton Core, etc.), which would have been useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW Atlas Giftpack, July 5, 2006

This item was a great hit for my son's recent birthday. He was very impressed and the bookmarks were a great touch. The item was received in a timely manner.

The Atlas itself was well laid out and should be purchased for someone new at the game of WOW. By the time someone has played WOW for a while, the Atlas may not be as helpful.

Also, dungeons and entire areas have been added to Azeroth since it was released two years ago, including several since this book was published last winter. If you really want up-to-date maps, I would search online for sites that keep updated maps. Usually, sites that offer maps also have maps and walkthroughs of instances, so they will be much more useful than this atlas. Allakazam is one site I can think of off the top of my head. Not to knock this book, I'm sure it's pretty and all that; I just don't think it's that useful for playing the game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, July 23, 2006
This review is from: World of Warcraft / Atlas Gift Pack (Hardcover)
Totally useful. I've been playing this game for a couple of months and i have a lvl 60 already, and this book is helping me a lot in my travels. If you have the Strategy Guide and the Atlas you'r game experience will be different. Totally recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you're looking for an actual atlas..., February 16, 2006
This review is from: World of Warcraft / Atlas Gift Pack (Hardcover)
and not a cheat book, this is what you want. My only regret is that the maps for the different zones are blown-up screen-shots from the game, rather than a higher-resolution form of the map. They're a bit blurry, but usable. There is information supplied for the location of NPCs and such, but for people hoping this was another form of strategy guide, you'll be disappointed. There is nothing showing plants or ore deposits, nor showing you what skins will drop from the mobs. For that, you're on your own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy Guide, Mofos, November 8, 2006

Of the 3 WoW guides I've utilized, this Atlas is the most used by far. Not only do the maps remove questions about locations (and with maps u don't feel you have to yell something like, "Where the hell is Un'Goro Crater?!?" in General chat) and which of them have what vendors and trainers, the lists in the back of the atlas provide locations for important NPCs, such as that final Master Blacksmith trainer, etc.

I use this guide every time I play. The frustration you'll avoid as a less experienced player will be priceless. So get it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for WoW Fanatics, February 23, 2006

This book is a must for any WoW player that wishes to learn the areas that s/he will be travelling / questing in. It will also enhance the playing experience as well as you are not having to asking over chatline for the info from this book.

The information in this book gives locations of quest persons, flight paths, creatures, boats as well as a plethora of other useful info.

I would recommend this book highly if you wish to further your knowledge of the game.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but it has errors, April 11, 2006

The major error off the bat is the color system used to describe flight path routes. Also they could have done a better job of identifying where flight paths originate. It took me 30 minutes to find the horde flight path information in Booty Bay.

I bought the original strategy guide, so this is a nice addition. Info on Mob spawns was pretty interesting. They list areas and frequency of the spawn of certain mobs. Probably the "bonus material" some people are looking for.

This is a nice reference for WoW. It has a map of the various Flight Paths and Ship routes. Great to refer to when opening up new territory in the game. Nice tool for the World of Warcraft gamer. I use it all the time.
