Just as with the first and second comic in this series i enjoyed it. I think peoples' biggest problem with this series is that they are expecting more then they should. In my opinion this series isn't meant to be an in depth read for normal comic fans, but a fun little visualization of some Warcraft lore. Do you need to read this comic to be 100% up to date on the story of Warcraft? no. There are various lore websites throughout the internet that can give u the streamlined version. However, if you want to see it for yourself this is a nice little series to pick up. Is it worth the price tag? Thats for you to decide.

The main problem that I have with these books is that they are completely inconsistent, as if they sacrificed quality over deadlines. If the art is good, the story is god awful, if the story is good, the art hurts my eyes. Theres really no winning here. The stories are kind of forced at points and don't really have the kind of pacing that you would expect from a professional comic, and the artist himself doesn't really seem to understand how to create good sequential art that fluidly tells a story.I bought all three of these books at the same time, and at some points was so confused by what was happening that i would have to read a couple pages over and over again to really figure out what they were trying to impart and i really don't feel like there was enough quality content per book to justify the prices (and these books were super discounted), HOWEVER the books did get here super early, and were in great condition when i got them. So thats like the one good point.

What I am really trying to say here is that if you are super into the lore of world of warcraft you may want to just jump on the WOW lore wiki and sit these comics out, unless you are an ocd completeionist, if you are just looking for warcraft lore pick up any one of the novels by Christie Golden, or if you have your heart set on a World of Warcraft: The Shattering: Book One of Cataclysm or if you just want a really good fantasy comic book grab the first Dungeon and dragons trade Dungeons & Dragons Volume 1: Shadowplague HC

While it sets up some of the events in Cataclysm and there's a lot here for Warcraft Lore Buffs and the story gives you a lot of insight into Varian's relationship with Thrall and The Horde.

The art is quite honestly subpar up to the last chapter which is penciled and colored by a different team. The last chapter is what's worth your money here art-wise; beautiful renderings by Tony Washington really bring everything to life. I believe he is fully involved with Vol. 4 so I'm looking forward to picking that up.

I did really love the story, once I got it I couldn't put it down.
The art work is great, however I was a tad disappointed when it got towards the last pages where it seemed as if they changed the artist or the artist got a bit lazy.
However, this is very much worth buying!

This was the 3rd Volume in the set I purchased and my husband loves it! It compliments his current collection and gave him more to discuss during his podcasts and game nights. I'll be reading the set soon so I can understand just what HE's talking about!
