My son saw this book at Books-A-Million and wanted it, but it was around $40, so I told him to wait and I would get it for him online. Obviously Amazon had it for less, with free s/h, so I bought it and my son loves it! He's really into history right now and this covers the world wars in a very informative way with lots of pictures.

Easy text, pictures, and diagrams which makes it very interesting for children and adults. The sequence and explanation of events are brief, almost too brief, but are enough to teach you the facts, and help you put the event(s) into historical context.
This one is a keeper, a good handy reference. Some times we watch a WW documentary, and miss some of the information, and this book helps me review and clarify the information.

I bought this for my 12 year old and he has read it word for word twice already. If you have a kid who loves history or just a thirst for knowledge this is a great book.

This was a Christmas present for my 9 year old son. It is only Dec 31st and we have completed the 240 pages - word for word. It was excellent.
It is well written with lots of pictures, maps and online references for more study. It does not skirt the difficult issues and presents the facts of the war in a very balanced and thoughtful manner. Neither glorifying nor trivializing the terrible events, I found it to be a great primer for both me and my son.

This book is a must have for any child who is fascinated by American History and all of its wars. The pictures are gorgeous and the text is wonderfully written. I would have to say that this book is perfect for ages 10 and up. I do wish that it provided a bit more back story to the events that led to the countries siding with each other at the start of the first World War. If you haven't been studying American History leading up to the point of these wars, you might need to do a bit more background research with your child before you take on this book.
