5.0 out of 5 stars Post-punk pre-Manchester genius
A systhesis of The Jusus and Mary Chain, The Church, and House of Love, and a dash of The Smithereens. Not quite goth, not quite shoegazer, east coast college music from that wonderfully confused time that was the late 80's. Buy this CD!

1.0 out of 5 stars SOUR
Beware: this is NOT remastered. Though I loved this album and it does include a handful of bonus tracks, the sound is the same as the original CD 20 years ago. Worse yet, one of the bonus tracks (a demo, no less) is about 4 times as loud as the regular album.

This is a head-scratcher of a reissue. In this day and age, to simply reissue a 20 year old album...

This brilliant album gets better each time I listen to it. The shimmering guitar lines throughout are brilliant. Album flows seamlessly from guitar-charged Brit-Pop rockers to beautiful slower numbers. The rhythm section is topnotch and bass and drums are high up in the mix. Not a bad song in the bunch, but the best are Inside Out, Closer To You, In Everything You Do, Shine and Breaaking Down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great album from the 80s, or any era..., March 7, 2007

This review is from: World Without End (Audio CD)
This is a straightforward, rousing rock & roll album that sounds as fresh as the day it was released. World Without End doesn't have the quaint retro sound that many of the more acclaimed "college rock" bands of this era had-- instead the Lemon Drops relied on basic rock riffs and some extremely solid playing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Late Model New Wave with all the Accessories, September 2, 2005
This review is from: World Without End (Audio CD)
If you liked or loved any or all of the Smiths,The Churh, or Echo, you would enjoy this entire album. Not a bad song on it. The editing is wonderful and flows from beginning to end. Typical lyrics for the eighties and great uplifting sing along songs(choruses at a minimum). No doubt you will be turning this up in the car and joining in at the risk of embarrasment. Some pretty good lap or steering wheel drum beats too. Enjoy !!!!!!

This is a head-scratcher of a reissue. In this day and age, to simply reissue a 20 year old album without remastering is a joke. I can remaster the thing on my computer in 30 mins.

I thought one day hey I have this on cassette and looked for it. :( it was damaged. Mighty Lemon Drops never got any real notice in the States, but if like me you discovered them what a treasure of New Wave.

Melody 80's new wave haunting vocals a must for the CD collection
