Jorn Lande is a sickeningly talented singer, who can be anything to any man. Sort of St Peter...... anyway, this is his second solo release, using very talented musicians, self-produced, and mostly co-written with the guitarist. And Heavier in places than anything I've heard Jorn get up to in his many guises. The opening track is very Black Sabbath, although Jorn's vocals add an individuality to it. Then Sunset Station comes along, and it's more uptempo, with a clear chorus hook, very nice. And on it goes. There is a double-bass thrash number (my least favourite cut - too heavy for me), a bluesy ballad, some mid-tempo stuff, all revealing Jorn's many influences whilst highlighting his awesome versatility. In particular his Coverdale influence is apparent (especially on the ballads). I prefer his work with Ark, but this is a good showcase of his talents, and should keep most rock/metal fans happy. If only it wasn't so short (<45 minutes)!

Brilliant sound & production, material just falls short,

I'd heard some songs from Jorn's debut and in particular enjoyed his cover of 'Edge of the blade' so decided to take the plunge with this, his latest solo CD...vocally the man is a dead ringer for David Coverdale without the annoying mannerisms and a top producer if the sound of this CD is anything to go by... an awesome wall of sound..Most of the songs have fantastic melodies especially the title track ( which I love to scream along to in the car after a particularly hard shift at work ) and the guitarist is inspired. The more thrashy tracks are not quite my cup of tea but even these have sumptuous choruses.

In spite of his penchant for composite words in the titles of his solo albums,Jorn Lande's new opus will convert legions of new fans.Backed by a very tight band,he manages to deliver prime time grandiose rock'n'roll, payng tribute in the proces to the likes of Whitesnake and Black Sabbath, evident in the heavy grinding of the title track. All the songs are very strong and inspired, proving Lande's capabilities as a songwriter and his taste for melody.A rare album indeed.

This is better than Out to Every Nation. Lande is awesome. I like Out to Every Nation and would give it 4 stars, so if you like Lande at all and liked the above order and buy Worldchanger. You will dig it.

Jorn elevates his solo work to world-class level on this second album,

"Worldchanger" is the second solo album of Norwegian rock/metal singer Jorn Lande, originally released in 2001. A year past the release of his debut, "Starfire", Jorn returns with an all-originals studio album and stable band line-up.
"Worldchanger" a bold title by any standards, was a healthy second step in the singer's solo career establishing Jorn as a songwriter, apart from extraordinary vocalist while forging a musical partnership with laed guitarist Tore Moren who would become a key member of Jorn's band in the years to come; the two also form the songwriting core of the album. The line up is completed by bassist Sid Ringsby and drummer Jan Aksel. In terms of direction "Worldchanger" like its predecessor, could be characterized as pomp/melodic hard rock only this time substantially heavier with greater emphasis on guitar riffs and big drumming. And there rockers come in plenty, the attack of "Sunset station", the swagger and passion of "Christine" and the infectious AOR of "Bridges will Burn" make "Worldchanger" another landmark in Lande's career an album that indeed features songs that never sound old. Overall "Worldchanger" further solidified the reputation of Jorn Lande while also being the first attempt in turning "Jorn" from a solo project to a full time band; a definite must for any fan of pomp hard rock.

One of Jorn's heavier solo offerings,

2001's Worldchanger is the second solo album from Jorn Lande, the Norwegian super-vocalist of Ark and Masterplan (and too many other bands to name) fame. If you're not familiar with Jorn, he has the best voice in melodic rock, sounding like the voice of David Coverdale with the spirit of Ronnie James Dio (RIP).
I don't think Jorn really hit his stride as a songwriter until his later solo albums, but Worldchanger still has a lot to offer. It's a very melodic, but very heavy album. Of course, any album with Hellhammer on drums has to be pretty heavy. There's a strong Heaven and Hell vibe, particularly on the heavy opening track "Tungur Knivur" and "Bless the Child." The more melodic "Sunset Station" and "Bridges Will Burn" are also highlights. Like all Jorn solo albums, Worldchanger treads the line between hard rock and heavy metal, but it's done in a way that should please fans of both types of music. If you're already a Jorn fan, this album is of course a must-have. If you're new to the man's work, but enjoy music by Dio, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Pretty Maids and/or Starbreaker, you really need to hear some Jorn Lande. I'd recommend starting with an album like Lonely Are the Brave or Spirit Black though, and then working back to Worldchanger.

this guy could sing the ingrediants on the back of a betty crocker cake mix box...doesn't matter..serious Mojo here!he can sing any style and sings with huge power, finesse and soul. check out Ark's "burn the sun" for the best of Jorn. Fans of early Coverdale & Dio will be blown away....yes friends this is a case of student out does the teacher.

Acojonante la voz de este hombre. Yo lo he descubierto con Masterplan, geniales, pero este trabajo en solitario es la hostia. Musicalmente hablando quizás no tenga nada nuevo, pero su voz tiene algo que hace que te enganches. Recomendado.

This is the 1st JORN (lande) album i ever heard. After this lp. i discovered ARK and thought WOW, how the hell can he go from that to this? This cat can sing anything and make it sound good. He has sung in soo many great rock bands like MASTERPLAN/ ARK/ MILLENUM/ THE SNAKES/ MUNDUS IMPERIUM and ALLEN/LANDE not to mention the new AVANTASIA. Jorn Lande should be HUGE in America but all we care about here is image!
