His work is a combination of everything I like. Part American comics, part Japanese anime and manga, part Art Noveau, Klimt's work specifically comes to mind, part Art Deco and a healthy helping of Dulac and Neilsen's Golden Age illustrative style.

My son brought this book to me, sure that I would love it. Amano's work has been influenced by all the European artists I love and collect - Klimt, Rackham, Dulac, Nielsen - and he gives that inspiration his own incredible style. Really lovely book and a great introduction to the prolific artist's works.

This book is great. It has some exerts from different books by Amano, so if you do not want to all his books, buy this one. Plus the art work is very cool.

This edition like so much of Amano's other work is excellent as always. I never regret a Amano purchase. Hardcover-color DJ, and all color graphic's by the master !!

I first became familair with Amano-san's work via Final Fantasy 6. His work is very reconizable and emotionive. I bought this book because it is more-or-less a greatest hits of his artwork. While there is both Vampire Hunter D and Final Fantasy art in here. A few covers from the sci-fi magazines he worked on are included. Yes, there is nudity in the book, but it is done tastefully.

I didn't expected Amano's work to be so wonderful. Even the rest of my family who didn't him at all felt an impressive sensation about it.
