Biography

Blue Stone are the production duo Robert Smith and Bill Walters. Both write, produce, program and arrange all the music for Blue Stone. The music is electronic based, but the group uses many organic sounds and natural percussion to elevate the sound beyond simple electronica. World music, tribal rhythms and lush orchestration are the underpinning for melodic female vocals and harmonies that give… Read more in Amazon's Blue Stone Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Could This Be Better Than Breathe?, February 7, 2007
This review is from: Worlds Apart (Audio CD)
I liked their previous album Breathe so much, and gave it five stars, but Worlds Apart is just as good. There is so much flow and depth to this album, it's really a joy to listen to. Also, there is a mystical flavor that permeates the recording. Very otherworldly stuff to take you on a pleasant journey. The three female vocalists (Maura Hurley, Sheyenne Rivers, and Samantha Sandlin) have beautiful voices, perfect for this type of music. Try listening with quality headphones, it's really something! You hear all of the nuances and entrancing sounds better that way. It is an excellent recording, and great headphones or a good stereo can bring out the best in this work. Note: Track 6, "Worlds Apart" contains a left speaker/right speaker dynamic that is just incredible to hear with good headphones. I was blown away. But that is not the only standout track; the whole album contains some really exquisite material. If you like Blue Stone, you may also be interested in Amethystium, Mythos, Sleepthief, Balligomingo, and Delerium. They are all fabulous artists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well done, March 8, 2007
This review is from: Worlds Apart (Audio CD)
This album is a club DJ's dream. With chilling vocals and insanely catchy beats, this is sure to be a dance club favorite after the songs find their way into a remix DJs hands. The songs how are they are now don't disappoint, though. This album is perfect for a great set of headphones and a comfy couch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Calm yet Enthusiastic, February 28, 2007
This review is from: Worlds Apart (Audio CD)
Blue stone opened up a new interest in the genre of preferred music. It's serene, calm, soothing, has a sort of Enigma effect. Helps me relax after long days of work.
