4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Entertaining
I don't want to write a long review so I will keep it short. That's a comic book including 3 different stories in different D&D universes. The artwork is pretty cool, but Drizzt was far better in the Legend of The Drizzt comic book series. The stories are ok, but DL could have been better. It was only about seeing Raistlin and Dalamar as a comic book character and nothing...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I had in mind
I am a huge dungeons and dragons fan, all worlds of it. I am not however a comic book fan and never would have purchased this item if I knew it was one. There needs to be some kind of warning to potential buyers as to the format of a book.

I especially liked the Eberron story, with actions and puzzles and mysteries and that kind of stuff. I hope there will be a sequel. Drizzt's story is also very good written, this might because of experience of Salvatore in both novel writing and comic book writing.

It's really fun to read, I suggest people who knows Drizzt and Raistlin to read it. Also people who are new to the D&D universes will enjoy the stories.

This review is from: The Worlds of Dungeons & Dragons Volume 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)
As a long-time fan of D&D I was quite excited to hear about the Worlds of Dungeon & Dragons comic books. Having purchased them in the collected form I am quite happy to report that they do not disappoint in any way.

To be clear, these comics contain stories from Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and Eberron (there might be something from Ravenloft hidden in there). These three iconic realms from Dungeons and Dragons come to life with lively writing, excellent art, and of course sparkling characters.

Volume 1 of the collection includes comics one and two, though these are long enough to make this volume equivalent to Volume 2 which collects comics three through five. Within are gripping tales including Drizzt, Raistlin, and a very compelling Eberron introduction. Each story is lovingly illustrated and paced to suck you in.

If you are steeped in D&D lore I can only wonder why you don't own these comics already, but if you are new to D&D I would suggest grabbing the collections and digging into a pile Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and Eberron novels from the library before reading the comics. They reference many characters and concepts without, like the novels generally do, explaining every little detail and facet for new reader's sakes. Still, best not to wait until these volumes are out of print!
