5.0 out of 5 stars Answers all the right questions, August 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The World's Easiest Guide For New Believers (World's Easiest Guides) (Paperback)
When a seeker makes the decision to become a Christian, it's a beginning, not a completion of anything (a point on which certain evangelistically minded people seem unclear). The new believer is left with many questions about what, exactly, he or she has committed to.

The World's Easiest Guide for New Believers is probably the best available answer book I've seen. Some resources are too light on the theology. ("Yes, Jesus loves you. Yeaaaaaah, God!") Others go to the opposite extreme and read like seminary textbooks. At the risk of sounding too much like Goldilocks, I have to say this one is just right!

Southern's guide is witty without being corny, simple without being simplistic, and meaty without making the reader feel overwhelmed or incapable of understanding. Each chapter covers a different topic (God's will, heaven, worship, evil, etc.), beginning with a few simple truths and leading to the relevance of those truths and how they might be practically applied in a person's life. The numerous sidebars and clean layout of the book are nice additions to the well-written text.

I highly recommend this book to any new believers you might know . . . as well as any old-school believers who appear to have forgotten what their faith is all about.

This is a good book on an important subject. I wish I could have had such information to be found in one place when I was a new believer.
