I absolutely love the movie and the soundtrack.
Aaron Reams
I am of course speaking of the opening track from the film entitled "Summer's Magic" by Mark Summers.

I am just chiming in with a short note: I was considering purchasing the soundtrack to the film and realized that the UK CD release contains TEN more songs from the film. It is the version to order for the soundtrack. You can order it from Amazon.co.uk and it will cost about the same to ship it to America. Also, there is one pivotal song included in the film left off of both soundtracks (probably for licensing reasons but I don't really know): Mark Summers - Summers Magic. So if you want to add that to the album it should be added in separately for playback on your PC, iPod, etc.

I just wanted to leave this note to help other potential customers. The music from this movie is amazing and no fan should go without the complete musical package intended by Edgar Wright and company.

Up until this album was released, my favourite soundtrack ever would have definitely been Shaun of the Dead. My copy of that album is in all honesty almost worn out from being carried around for so many years. I didn't think it would have been possible for Wright and Pegg to come up with a better soundtrack that compliments a film as well as that one did. That said, I was pretty surprised to find that this particular release blows it away...

I always loved the way you could put the soundtrack in and sort of relive the movie, what with all the samples from the film and all that. I know some people don't like that format, but it has changed a little with this release. Now, all of those soundbits and contained on their own individual tracks rather than mixed in with everything...sort of like the best of both worlds.

As far as the music goes, if you saw the film and liked what you heard, you will obviously be totally into this release. HOWEVER...there are a few points that do need to be made...

1 - First of all, as another reviewer pointed out, this is not the most complete version of this compilation available. The UK version contains several more songs, and I do have my copy on order for that right now. Cost from Amazon.uk was a little over 20.00 US with the shipping included. The cover art is also better on in my opinion. The same things ended up happening with the Hot Fuzz soundtrack as well...the US version being subpar with fewer tracks and less cool cover art. Shaun of the Dead's soundtrack was only ever available in the UK, and was pretty well complete. Wow...look at the prices for that now!

2 - The Sisters of Mercy track This Corrosion has been dramatically shortened.

The film is fantastic. The soundtrack too - what there is of it. As other reviewers have noted, the UK version is much more complete, and both the US and UK releases are missing key elements. So just 4 stars for this one, and then I'll have to decide whether to buy the UK CD version or assemble a complete playlist track by track....

Loved the movie, and loved the song selections. So I had to get the sound-track. It does NOT disappoint. Of course, I already have a few of these songs from other 90 mixes or from the original albums from "back in the day", but this is just a good album to listen to from start-finish.

Good stuff.

loaded by primal scream is very similar imho to sympathy for the devil
the soundtrack was OK, but i graduated 10 Y earlier, it was more about classic rock and new wave at that time

Many of the great songs from "The World's End", plus several audio interludes from the film as well. Each song drips of late 80s early 90s nostalgia, allowing you a brief glimpse into Gary King's head. My favorites have to be "This Corrosion" , "20 Seconds to Comply" which plays during the great bar fight. And "So Young" which has lyrics so perfect for this movie it will make you tear up.
