The Silver Age of Comics,

This review is from: World's Finest Comics Archives, Vol. 2 (DC Archive Editions) (Hardcover)
This volume reprints World's Finest Comics #86-101 (January 1957-May 1959.) It includes the beautifully elegant cover art by Curt Swan, who for the next thirty years will define the look of Superman. Stories by Edmond Hamilton, one of the best Superman writers, and Bill Finger, who really co-created Batman. Dick Sprang, who drew most of the Batman stories until the early 1960's, did the pencils. How can you go wrong??

Superman and Batman--Best Buds,
This review is from: World's Finest Comics Archives, Vol. 2 (DC Archive Editions) (Hardcover)
The joy of reading World's Finest is in the interplay between a guy with superpowers and another guy whose skills are nearly super. This silver age treat in the D.C. roster shows us why friendship is always interesting. Some friendships were just meant to be--Superman really enjoys the company of Batman and the same is true for Batman towards Superman. In many ways, Superman and Batman are the most self-sufficient of heroes in the D.C. universe and their confidence in their abilities is what makes this partnership work. If you're ten years old, this on-going "buddy" adventure is a joy to behold. Who wouldn't want to partner up with the "Man of Steel"? If Superman could be great pals with Batman, maybe he could be great pals with any one of us kids. If you're going outside to play, wouldn't you like to mess around with these two guys?

DC Archives...Somewhat expensive, but well worth it!,

This review is from: World's Finest Comics Archives, Vol. 2 (DC Archive Editions) (Hardcover)
I grew up reading comics in the 60's and 70's...these stories are a little "before my time" but are still incredibly enjoyable...Superman and Batman, unlike today, were still fun. I love the DC Archive books...they take you back to a time when life was less hectic, and not quite so serious. I own about 15 books in this series, and will continue to purchase them...Highly recommended!!!
