Like many golfers, B.J. Withers spent years searching for the secret to the perfect golf swing. Instruction books, videos, copying others' swings - he looked everywhere trying to find the common denominator good players use for solid ball-striking.
Unlike most golfers, the Gastonia native came up with an answer and is sharing it in a newly published instructional book called The World's Greatest Golf Lesson.
"It's not a book," proclaimed Withers, 64, "it's a golf lesson."
Not to give the secret, but Withers' premise revolves around an inside-to-outside swing path. He explains his theory and then details seven practice drills to help promote this motion. In all, the book features 34 pages of instruction with diagrams and photographs.
