1.0 out of 5 stars Hole in none, August 9, 2005
I'm giving this book one star because there's no option for zero. While I could go on about how ridiculous the "jokes" are, some things just speak for themselves.
Here's an example:
"What's the quickest way to beat my brother-in-law at golf?"
"Give him a book on how to play."

or how about this gem:

"How can I improve on 36 holes of golf a week, roughly speaking?"
"Stop cursing."

As if this level of what is being passed off as "humor" isn't bad enough, near the end of the book we are treated to another of comparable "quality" only this time the characters in the joke speak German. (translation provided at bottom of joke) There's no rhyme or reason for this nonsense other than that the joke (which other than the dialog is written in English) takes place in Germany. If this was so important to the writer, why not set the joke in an English speaking country and spare the reader the extra effort needed to elicit this particular groan?

I feel bad putting down a book this much, but I'd feel worse about the person who shells out the money for this book only to be sorely disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Try and Laugh at This, July 25, 2005
I bought this book at a used book store for $2 and feel completely ripped off! I have been an avid golfer for 35 years and love golf humor. There is no golf humor here! I read the entire book and never laughed, or even smiled, once. Absolutely pathetic!
