Book Description

December 1, 2007
Revivals always begin with personal desperation. When we are desperate enough to cry out to God for our need, He releases a deluge of His Spirit to not only meet your need, but to also change your family, community, state, nation and the world. The greatest revivals have all been initiated by the deep-seated needs of man. God has responded to passionately meet each of those needs. Waves of God's mercy in response to our heart's cry will benefit those around us and even the world. The World's Greatest Revivals explores: The Reformation, The Great Awakening, The Azusa Street Revival, and The Toronto Blessing. Through extensive research and personal experiences, authors Fred and Sharon Wright share the fascinating history of revivals and revivalists over the past 600 years and explore their long-lasting impact on society. This book shows the personal impact of these revivals and how our desperation opens the floodgates of heaven.

This book will deepen your understanding of the dynamics of revival while it educates you concerning the flow of church history. It's a must read for anyone who loves and cherishes the movement of the Holy Spirit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book but very bad formatting, June 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I think this book is fantastic. Well written and researched. As a student of revival I appreciate it very much however, it is at times difficult to read as to the very poor formatting to Kindle. You think if you paid for this as much as you do that they would at least take time to proof read it better. Words are often separated with a space like Bod y Surfing. This happens often and sometimes even so that you have to stop and guess the word. Also they chose a hard font for Kindle (in my opinion) where some of the letters, especially capitols are very faint in areas (like with "C", "G" and "O"') and you cannot change the style.
This is a pity as it is a great book I would highly recommend to everyone in our studies on Revival History that we teach (however, probably in paper version). Again a great book and worth reading but please when you sell these for full price on Kindle take time to edit it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting!, July 24, 2010
This review is from: World's Greatest Revivals (Paperback)
I found this book to be quite interesting in that it gives the author's view of the four great revivals in the context of church (and sometimes world) history. What was especially enlightening was the insight into revival being the means God has used to restore a forgotten truth to the church. Seeing each of these identified - and the fruit that came from them which I can see myself this very day - is part of why the Wrights conclusions rang so true in my own heart. Highly recommend.
