I've had thousands of protein shakes over the years, and there were always tradeoffs. I look for three things in a protein shake: high protein content, good taste, and low calories. It seemed like getting one always led to losing another. But these shakes have it all. 35 grams of protein, great taste, and low calories. Perfection.

If there's any weakness, it's that you don't quite get a full complement of vitamins and nutrients. But this is easy to supplement.

If you're looking to build lean muscle mass, this is your shake.

Here's my take:

1. Taste - overall really good for a protein drink, just ok if compared to regular drinks. I think it has a bit of an aftertaste from some artificial sweetener, but you get used to it after the first can. It's not something I have to hold my nose to drink or anything along those lines. It's in the top 10% of protein shakes that I have tasted.

2. Calorie:protein ratio. 35 grams of protein in <150 calories is impressive. That's what I like about it the most. Other protein shakes are packed with calories. This is light, you don't get full on it, you just get protein. It's lean and mean - I like that.

3. Stomach reaction. I usually have a bad reaction to protein shakes and powders - my stomach is pretty weak. I'd say 80% of drinks/powders don't sit well with my stomach. This one has been great.

4. Portability - I just love that it's a drink in a can that I can just take with me. I don't have to blend it. I can stick some in the refrigerator at work. It's very convenient.

5. Type of protein. I'm no expert on protein. This one has milk protein and the caseinate. Not sure how that compares to others.

Overall, I'm definitely going to be buying more of this and making it a staple of my diet. That's the best compliment I could give a protein drink.

This is good stuff...good taste, not chalky, and no mixing. My second or third time buying, and have tried all flavors

When one has gastric bypass surgery, one is required to get a lot of protein in. These shakes are perfect for me. I'm particularly sold on the Frosty Chocolate, though I'll drink the others too. They're portable, so I can bring them to work without needing a blender to mix a drink up, I don't need to worry about graininess, etc.

They're tasty, they're virtually fat and carb-free, and they're loaded with protein - the perfect food!!

These things actually taste fantastic. They won't win any awards but for people who are used to protein shakes and their taste when mixed with just water...this is a huge step up. When dieting these things would be a lifesaver for anyone because of the low carb and fat content, and just straight up 35g of protein. Most shakes at this price level do not offer this much protein either.

I cannot rave enough about these shakes. They are by far the best compared to any other shake I've had. Compared to EAS shakes, Atkins, and etc - these have the best taste, pack in 35 g of quality protein, and are VERY low in calories, carbs, and fat. Great post workout drink. 5 stars!

The product itself is wonderful; great taste, high protein, and low calories. But I buy individual cans at Trader Joe's for $2.29 each, whereas here it works out to $2.67 a can, plus shipping! Joe's also has the 21 gram versions for $1.99. So if you have a Trader Joe's close by, you can go and stock up while mixing and matching flavors and save lots of money.

I enjoy all of the PURE PROTEIN drinks, but banana is my and my husband's favorite. It is creamy, not too thick, and no medicine taste.

These Pure protien shakes are both delicious and packed with protien. They go down easy with no unpleasant after taste. I am a body builder so its important to me what i put in my body at all times. pure protien fits right into my diet. as far as flavor goes im am particularly fond of the vanilla banana and strawberry varieties they are creamy and tasty but i don't recommend the chocolate because it tastes bad. Still, its a 5 star product.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this product. It has a great chocolate flavor, and because it's a high-protein drink instead of a meal replacement (and therefore isn't so fortified), it doesn't have that faint vitamin taste that, say, a Slim-Fast has. 35 grams of protein, 4 grams of (total) carbs, and 1 fat gram make this an excellent choice for people who just need to pump up their protein intake.
