But Latymer seems to have a knack for getting involved in crime solving, despite being retired. When a young student discovers the horribly mutilated body of a local farmer and calls on Latymer for help, it's hard for the former policeman to refuse. The murder closely resembles a still-unsolved crime that took place nearly 50 years earlier, and Latymer is convinced there's a connection. As he digs further into the case, Latymer finds many odd elements: violent protests against genetically modified crops, suspects who mysteriously disappear, and witchcraft all play roles in the solution.
