Product Description

Do you ever wonder what all of those worms squirming around subterranean tunnels are scheming? We do, too. As it turns out, according to Worms Armageddon, our wacky segmented friends have a stockpile of crazy weapons and are waging a war big enough to turn the world into a heaping compost pile. Who knew?

Worms Armageddon brings the humorously addictive gameplay of the very popular Worms series to the Nintendo 64 for the first time. The strategy-based gameplay is as unique as the premise. Commanding a team of worms, players wriggle and shoot through 30 missions and 14 training levels. Players take turns moving a worm warrior into position and then firing at the opposing team, using an arsenal of weapons ranging from mines and kamikaze attacks to the more traditional exploding sheep attack and banana bombs. Naturally, the commander who best combines strategic moves with creative attacks wins the worm war.

Join the throngs of fans of this unique game series and you'll never look at a grinning, gun-toting earthworm in the same way again. --Eric Twelker

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for the Worms!, January 25, 2000

Worms Armagedon is a great game! For rpg lovers Worms a great game! There are 30 great levels to bomb through and 11 fun training levels to master the strategy and handeling the weapons. You can even create your own levels if you get board of the levels they already have. You also have hilarious weapons like a cranky old lady or if you prefer a skunk that poisons your enemy before finishing it off when the skunk explodes. You also have super sheep and exploding cows overall their are about 35 weapons that are very humorous and amusing. I think this is a fun game that will last you a very long while!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Definate Buy for the PC - Rental Only for the N64, August 1, 2000

Worms Armageddon for the PC is probably my favorite game of all time. I was quickly drawn towards it due to how funny it was, the high importance of strategy, and the range of options and statistics. While Worms for N64 still maintains the humor and strategy, it is lacking in too many areas to be worth buying. The very first thing that I came to dislike after buying the game was the bad resolution. On the PC version the res. can be changed to the point where you can see about a quarter of the total landscape. In Worms 64 this is much, much less. Shooting a shotgun, for example, across some water used to be an easy task. Now it's close to impossible due to the fact that you have to scroll so much that your worm is off the screen. I'm not talking about really hard shots either. The next thing I noticed was the complete lack of statistics. Sure, you can create your own team, but that screen where you can see total worms killed, lost, overall % ranking, levels completed (and with what type of medal recieved) is gone. This makes having your own team much less exciting. Also, the amount of options has been but close to nil. Whereas the PC version had over 30 sounds schemes, tombstone choices, victory music, etc., this version has about 6 of each. I know that having the whole range of sounds would probably be impossible on an N64 game but I still expected better. With all this said, I'm still going to give this game 3 stars because the PC version is practically a work of art, and someone who hasn't played that version will probably hold this version of the game in much higher regard than I have. Rent it for a good party game, but if you really like it but it for PC. The requirements are fairly easy to meet (P133).

5.0 out of 5 stars Worms Is better then expected, April 17, 2000

I recentley tried this wacky looking game, expecting bad results. I was very surprised. This rpg is very fun, and wacky. Some of those weapons are so cool and funny. Once you start, it's hard to put it down. Theres also training missions to get you ready for the big one. All in all, there's a 9/10 chance you'll LOVE this game.
