In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess upfront that modern 'worship' music generally either drives me nuts or bores me to tears. I find the frequent claim that "the Lord gave me this song" absurd, because I just can't fathom Almighty God writing such awful music (folding up soapbox).

This album, however, is a different kettle of fish. Natalie and the crew from Integrity really reinvent rather pedestrian material here, and infuse these tunes with soul, passion, and the most elusive ingredient: *music*. "Holy, Holy, Holy" is funky and hard-edged, and is rendered with great conviction. "Let It Rise" cops a persuasive Stevie Wonder vibe, featuring bubbling synth bass and killer horns. Darwin Hobbs is absolutely soul-stirring on "High and Exalted." Unquestionably one of the finest voices in Gospel music, Hobbs is literally a one man choir. The completely tricked out salsa take on Grant's "Crown You With Praise" is a tour de force. I'm not able to ascertain from the liner notes who the pianist is, but the guy really delivers the Cuban goods.

Other gems include the middle eastern/hard rock read (you read that correctly) of Michael W. Smith's "Agnus Dei." The Integrity band literally beats the 'pretty' out of it. Angela Cruz leads on an almost unbearably impassioned "Holy Spirit Rain Down", one of the high water marks of the album.

The only bone I would pick with this set is the slick Nashville production that occasionally creeps in and robs a potentially great moment of its 'authenticity.' The 'spontaneous' expressions of worship sometimes sound a little staged.

When the dust settles, however, "Worship" is very engaging Christian music, transforming simple material into the sublime.

This is a GREAT cd! Natalie has a wonderful gift and the guest stars she sings with are terrific. I can't recommend this highly enough. Every song takes you higher in praise and worship.

Awesome CD of worship songs. I play it often and am blessed everytime I hear the songs of praise. It's wonderful how they use their talents for God's glory!!!

Natalie has an awesome voice and we loved this c.d. We would recommend it to anyone.

I bought this cd because I really love track number 3... I believe it is called High and Exalted and it is a really beautiful song. I rated it 3 because I only really like 2 songs from the cd.. number 3 and 6.. and the rest of it is okay... but I keep listening to those 2 songs over and over and over.. so yeah that is all.. thank you.

This recording is much different than I thought that it would be like! I give this a"Stong Recommendation"! Go Get Yourself A Copy and Enjoy!!! :-)
