4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource!
This was a great resource for us to learn LB's latest stuff. The only problem was that the version of Today Is The Day in this set is different from the one I downloaded! I guess they made this version specifically for the worship team environment instead of popular consumption. Too bad. I'd love to have the details no how they played the published version. But...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not narrated by Lincoln Brewster!!!
I purchased this thinking this was the 2nd installment of Lincoln Brewster's 1on1 dvd series. THIS IS NARRATED AND ILLUSTRATED BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN LINCOLN BREWSTER. The title states by Lincoln Brewster and it is not. It does have useful chord diagrams and does have a dvd that shows the CHORD progressions. This has no guitar solos demonstrated!!! I have other...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not narrated by Lincoln Brewster!!!, March 22, 2009
This review is from: Worship Tools: Today is the Day (DVD Audio)
I purchased this thinking this was the 2nd installment of Lincoln Brewster's 1on1 dvd series. THIS IS NARRATED AND ILLUSTRATED BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN LINCOLN BREWSTER. The title states by Lincoln Brewster and it is not. It does have useful chord diagrams and does have a dvd that shows the CHORD progressions. This has no guitar solos demonstrated!!! I have other resources available to me to get chord sheets, etc for worship. The audio cd is also produced by the other guy who produced this work. The sound quality is poor and so are the recordings. I would rather listen to the real Lincoln Brewster; who wouldn't. In my opinion this is deceptive advertising.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, May 27, 2011
This review is from: Worship Tools: Today is the Day (DVD Audio)
This publication is EXTREMELY misleading. Unless you are looking for very BASIC chord charts, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone other than an absolute beginner. Very disappointed with this purchase.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for serious worship musician, May 4, 2009
This review is from: Worship Tools: Today is the Day (DVD Audio)
I returned the book because it's not what I was looking for.

I am looking for the exact chord voicing, orchestration, and note-for-note transcriptions in this DVD. However, it is basically made for those who are interested in playing the songs in a more acoustic guitar settings. It is great if you don't have a full band and just want to learn those songs. However, you can probably get the chords from free resource online (or figure them out yourself).

I really can't understand why the other two reviewers rate this so low. Just a glance at the cover photo will tell you what's in this package. "In this Issue Easy to play arrangements from Lincoln Brewster Today is the Day". There's no claim anywhere that LB is doing the instructional work. That aside, this is an excellent resource for worship teams of all levels. The guitar, bass, keyboard, and drum cams are very useful for guiding musicians in understanding how their parts fit the song. The songs are arranged in a way to make them conducive to worship services, not touring. The narrated tutorial is limited to the acoustic guitar and that's just a general guide to each song with some suggested modifications. There's no segment covering the lead guitar parts. That's not really an issue since the book/dvd is focused on the core of each song rather than the embellishments. This is the goal of the entire WorshipTools series by VerticalMusic. If you want to copy the guitar parts note for note, there are plenty of resources on the web. Better yet, create your own parts like a real musician. That's what Lincoln did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inappropriate Listing, July 6, 2009
This review is from: Worship Tools: Today is the Day (DVD Audio)
This product was listed as NEW, but the audio CD was missing. I contacted the shipping dept., but there was NO response. Somebody else must be enjoying the CD.
