5.0 out of 5 stars Continuing Their Tradition of Great Worship CD's
This is trio Phillips, Craig, & Dean's third worship CD. I love their first two, and was quite eager to get this one. I wasn't disappointed.

Unlike the first two, this one only had two songs I was familiar with. The "In Christ Alone" medley takes the recent praise chorus and combines it with the chorus to the song of the same name made famous by Michael...

1.0 out of 5 stars Let the Worshipers Arise
I was very disappointed when I received this CD as the case was broken and the first six songs skipped. The rest of the CD won't make a sound. I was not happy.

This is trio Phillips, Craig, & Dean's third worship CD. I love their first two, and was quite eager to get this one. I wasn't disappointed.

Unlike the first two, this one only had two songs I was familiar with. The "In Christ Alone" medley takes the recent praise chorus and combines it with the chorus to the song of the same name made famous by Michael English. I was surprised to learn that Shawn Craig had written the song before the group formed. The other song is "Wonderful Merciful Savior." I've recently learned this great chorus, and their version of it is outstanding.

As with previous projects, the guys contribute a couple songs of their own. "Because I'm Forgiven" focuses on the reason we praise God. "Be the Praise of My Heart" recognizes that true worship comes from every action of our lives and not just the songs we sing. "Awake My Soul" is a prayer to be surrendered to God and become more like Him. Finally, "Mighty is the Power of the Cross" reflects on what was done for us on the cross.

The rest of the songs are great as well. The CD opens with "Friend of God," a joyful song about the mind-blowing idea that the God of the universe calls us friend. I actually heard "You are God Alone" on the radio before I got the CD and couldn't wait to get my own copy.

Every song on this CD focuses praise on God for all He's done for us and who He is. Music doesn't get much better then this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome sound after all these years!, March 8, 2005
This review is from: Let the Worshipers Arise (Audio CD)
I have alot of PC & D's older Cd's (90's) and was not expecting to hear the same sound on this new album because most groups change in a few years. But I bought it anyway.
I'm so happy that I did! In over 12 years, they still have the same great style and sound that they did when they first started and I think that's wonderful.
I can't pick a favorite song off of here because I like them all.
If you loved PC & D's older stuff, get this one too!

This CD will cause you to shut the door to all else and worship God. Scriptually sound lyrics will stir your heart to praise. You'll want to memorize it all, in case you are ever not listening to it! It is a precious collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phillips, Craig & Dean - "Let The Worshippers Arise", April 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Let the Worshipers Arise (Audio CD)
The cd itself is a GREAT collection of the worship songs that define PCD! I especially like the title track (song 5 on the cd) and the last song, "Wonderful Merciful Savior" (words and music by Dawn Rodgers and Eric Wyse). As for shipping, the seller goHastings was excellent and I'd do business again with this seller. Great cd, great transaction!
