"Worth" its weight in gold...,

Big thanks to Claude S. and Anything Box for this release. Worth was recorded between Peace and Hope, but has been extremely difficult to find for many years now. Recorded in Germany with the aid of Gareth Jones, it is a perfect example of synth-pop, even though the liner notes and cover depict a not so wonderful, but rather bittersweet experience for the band. Maybe the adversity fueled the creative juices because every song is fantastic. Two bonus songs are also included. Everything here falls into place smoothly, melodically, asthetically. The mood is set at the beginning and flows throughout. Not too light, not too dark, yet a sublime shade of grey (the photography captures this as well). There are some killer dance songs like "World Without Love," "Soldier & Child," "Beat Of Life," and "Decades," plus some heartfelt and emotional tracks like "Wedding Day," "Someone Speaks," and "Worth." The lyrics are deep, honest, and touching. Claude and Dania's voices are tops. Production is cool, phat mix, crisp sounds, snappy bass and beats, in other words, get this!Other favorites: "Come Away"/"All You Need Is Love" (wow, The Beatles would be proud!)/"Bonus track #14"

A Masterpiece,

This album is the mega-hit that never was, a brilliant follow up to 1989's "Peace". Far surpases Peace as an album. I believe it was produced by Gareth Jones of Depeche Mode production fame (who also just produced Erasure's Other People's Songs). You must have this album. Also, highly recommended -and just as good - is "Hope", the next Anything Box after this one. The song "Beat of Life" could've been a huge hit, if it weren't for the grunge invasion of the early 90's.Both "Worth" and "Hope" surprisingly out-pace the larger selling sony release, "Peace". Later releases by Anything Box, sadly, are less interesting.

FANTASTIC follow up to "PEACE",

This is fantastic album. I love it as much as "PEACE" if not more. A must have for all fans. No one can sound like Claude S. and Diana. With all three of them togather, no band sounds better. Every song will leave you breathless. The album starts out with "World Without Love" that will leave you breathless, and then "Soldier & Child" which will put a smile on your face. "Wedding Day" was written by Diana and will take you back to your first love. "Everybody Has A Wish" will relax you with Claude's voice. One of my favorate songs "Come Away" will make you cry as it expresses sadness and melody. Get ready to wipe off the tears with "Beat of Life" that will make you get up and dance. "Someone Speaks" is sad but great. "Worth" is just awsome and needs no introduction. "Decades"......wow......."The Ravine" and "All You Need is Love" are good especially if you like the remaking of a John Lennon song. "An Ending" and "A Few Passing Thoughts" are just fantastic in every way. There is two bounus tracks at the end and the first one is one of the best songs on this album. "ANYTHING BOX RULES"!!!!!!!!

A Fine Addition To The Anything Box Collection,

"Worth" seems somewhat like a sequel to "Peace". I can't believe the record company (EPIC?) did not pick this album up and release it back in the early 90's. Gareth Jones helped produce this album, as the band recorded it in Germany. The one thing I do want to point out is that "Worth" is a little more mature than "Peace". Sure you have your standard Anything Box pop classics, like "Beat Of Life" and "Come Away". But other songs, like "Someone Speaks", begin to show us that Anything Box has substance as well. "Soldier & Child" is probably my favorite track on the album. Another solid album from the Box.

Another Anything Box classic,

This album was recorded in Germany and produced by Garreth Jones who also produced for Depeche Mode. Worth is a melancholy album and many fans probably do not consider this release as ABOX worthy. But the simple truth is Worth is a very good album from start to finish. Notable songs are World without Love, Soldier and Child, The Ravine, An Ending, and a cover of the Beatles' All We Need Is Love.
