4.0 out of 5 stars very funny characters, August 24, 2010
This review is from: Worth Its Weight In Old: Karen Maxwell Mystery (Heartsong Presents Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
This certainly isn't the best mystery in the world. It doesn't take long to figure out who did it. But I didn't care - I had so much fun reading the give and take between all the characters. Karen's boss reminds me of a guy I used to work with. The kids are a hoot, too. And I liked that there was a little bit of a Christian message but the author didn't hit me over the head with it.

This review is from: Worth Its Weight In Old: Karen Maxwell Mystery (Heartsong Presents Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
Karon is back, but this time her relationship with her kids is more serious, though very much real. She is continuing her relationship with Brian, but he is being less then attentive to her needs. We find out very little new information about him, and even though his Christian walk is strong, it's leading Karon to uncertainty about faith and the direction of her own life, and whether Brian should be in it. Then there is the new case: difficult and rushed with so many suspects. Karon's life is in chaos, but she is determined to hold onto the reins.

Worth It's Weight In Old is an easy, enjoyable read, great for snuggling up with on a chilly fall evening. I'm very much looking forward to reading the next Karon Maxwell mystery! I've enjoyed both books and am intrigued to find out more about Karon, her family, and her relationship with Brian.
