Book Description

Book 2 in the New York Times bestselling Worth Series

All Katie ever wanted was a baby.
Be careful what you wish for.

Katie Lipton is the town beauty, but that never got her what she wanted most—a baby. And, oh yeah, a faithful husband would have been nice, too.

Reeling from her husband’s cheating and desertion, Katie embarks on a one-night fling with professional golfer Darío Luna. Never could she have imagined that one night with Darío would give her something fifteen years of marriage couldn’t—morning sickness.

Darío was raised without a father, and he has no intention of the same fate befalling his child. He’s still not sure about Katie, though. Did she trick him? Lie to him? But his feelings for her, and this crazy attraction he feels, soon has him putting his doubts aside to spend more time with her. He tells himself it’s for the sake of the baby. Yeah. Right.

Agreeing to try to work out some sort of relationship before the baby is due, Katie travels with Darío to his golf tournaments, walking the course with him by day...and giving in to their attraction by night. But will it be enough?

This book contains 2-3 fairly graphic love scenes and the F-bomb is detonated somewhat frequently. If it was a movie, it would be rated a hard R.

The Worth Series thus far:
1. Worth the Weight (Lizzie and Finn)
2. Worth the Drive (Katie and Dario
3. Worth the Fall (Alison and Petey)
4. Worth the Effort (Deni and Sawyer)
4.5 Totally Worth Christmas - novella (Phoebe and Charlie)

5.0 out of 5 stars Golf & Romance! November 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This contemporary romance is a lot of fun. Especially if you have any knowledge of golf or the tour players. Or if you've ever fantasized about a celebrity romance. I really liked the first book in this series, Worth the Weight, and think I enjoyed this one even more. The author has given a wonderful "twist" to the sex scenes. The hero (who must be based on a well known pro) is refreshingly all grown up and knows what he's doing. And our heroine is level headed except, maybe, when she's had a few too many margaritas. (Don't I know the feeling.) The story is fun and sexy and brings back characters from Worth the Weight giving it some real depth. I am very eager for the third "Worth" book to be published. (Can't wait to read about "The Smart One".) Enjoy!

I read Worth the Weight first and just had to purchase this book and the third one, too. I love these realistic characters. The author is a great writer with the ability to draw the reader into the story. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best out of the 3!!!! January 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read all three in the trilogy in a week. I couldn't wait to find out about them, and wasn't disappointed at all. Each character let you know why they are the way they are, and makes you root for each one! Just the right amount of romance, and the supporting characters really helped the story along. I loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to this series. January 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book, just as much as I loved the first one. This series centers around three long time friends who have been there for each other through thick & thin. Each one of them have their own good qualities about them, but they also face their own individual challenges in life. But not alone....no never alone. These woman are in their mid thirties now, but there's no way they'd let one of their friends face any problem on their own.

The first book dealt with Lizzie in "Worth The Weight", in which she struggles every single day with weight issues. Not only that...she has never gotten over the love of her life, Finn Robbins, who broke up with her just before she headed off to college eighteen years ago. She's also known as the most outgoing and loveable one of this group.

This book deals with Kate, labeled long ago by the townspeople as being the most beautiful one in the group. Kate has it all...the great looks, the perfect marriage, the perfect job. The only thing that seems to be lacking in her life is the ability to have children of her own. They had been trying to conceive for years, but haven't had any luck so far. They were even starting to consider going through Invitro method in order to conceive a child, or at least that's what she'd thought, anyway. Then one late afternoon her world comes suddenly comes crashing down around her. Kate sat on her bed...tears streaming down her beautiful cheeks, as she watched her husband packing his bags. He was leaving her for one of his former twenty year old students, who he had gotten pregnant. The hurt Kate was feeling at that moment was almost to much to bare. She had faithfully loved and trusted Ron for all these years, only to realize that he didn't return those same values in life.

Really enjoyed all the Worth books by Mara, the characters weren't perfect or too young, which made the books more relatable.

This book is so good from the beginning to the end. The whole series is good and I would highly recommend the book (all three books in the series). I fell in love with the main characters and their friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent read, but liked other 2 better June 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't know what it was, but I couldn't get in to the love story as much as I had with the first book and then when I read the third. It was still a good read, but enjoyed the other better. It was nice to have this characters story to add to the bigger picture.
