JCH says:
It looks really interesting--would you recommend buying it? Or getting it at the library? (to someone who has read it or is working on it)

I'm a pretty big Einstein fan and intellectual freedom advocate.

I have not read it, but it is always useful to own a book, especially when on a person you admire.
If it helps any I am thinking of buting it.

This is an exceptional book because it describes how science really is done, and sometimes not done. When Einstein (and others thus described) had instuitive insights, results were forthcoming - after a lot of trial and error and other hard work. But when Big Al was spinning his wheels hoping that a unified field theory would drop out of mathematical formalisms - NADA, ZIP. Math let's us model all possible universes and the impossible ones too, so no physics (or other science) is going to drop out of randomly selected equations.

This is one of the greatest biographies I have ever read! Buy it! ESPESIALLY if you like Einstein!
