This review is from: Worthy of Love: Meditations On Loving Ourselves And Others (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
This little book is full of insight. It is a must have for anyone who is wanting to evolve as an individual. It has shown me the difference in real love & "made up" love & helped me to better understand the nature of human love. Great book!

Wish I Could Give Both 4 1/2 Star & A One Star - Love Addiction,
This review is from: Worthy of Love: Meditations On Loving Ourselves And Others (Hazelden Meditation Series) (Paperback)
I 'Love' the title (Worthy Of Love). I was interested from the perspective of recovery from Love Addiction.
I'll start by saying - I'm glad this book may bring some more attention to Love Addiction. It does cover many things about being loving. And for this - I want to give it a 4 1/2 star rating. And - if like me - want more insight into recovery from Love Addiction and/or unhealthy 'Rescuing' of others - I do Not like that this book - keeps implying to put others ahead of ourselves. If your trying to recover from this behavior - it perpetuates this. So on that level - I would rate it a 'One'. I have lived a life of putting others first - helping people move, listening to peoples problems, needy people, codependant people, one-sided selfish people. People who take take take. This book does Not warn about these issues. I'm not saying I don't help people now. I'm saying - I more so identify IF someone is 'healthy' - willing - able, capable of resiprosity - THEN I'm open to all this 'loving' stuff. If you lose yourself in 'others' - then I think this book will not be helpful. If you can take from the good points in here - I suggest you get this book. This is NOT a daily meditation book - but rather a WEEKLY. I just don't believe in loving myself 'through' others (anymore). I believe - love yourself First - then if you can help and love others - without harming yourself - then do so. Sincerely, Scott MacNeil.

Studying yoga the past 6 years has taught me meditation is a daily essential. Worthy of Love: Meditations on Loving Ourselves and Others gives one another aspect of the journey to know yourself more completely.
