5.0 out of 5 stars Would God It Were Night: The Ordeal of a Jewish Boy, October 25, 2011

This review is from: Would God It Were Night: The Ordeal of a Jewish Boy from Cracow-Through Auschwitz, Mauthausen, and Gusen (Hardcover)
As a literay work, this is an incredible book. You feel like you have raw uncensored footage of the events which took place during the holocaust starting in Poland and ending up in Germany. The author doesn't resort to commentary on the events, just powerful revelation of what took place as he writes about his personal experience. I didn't want to put the book down until I had finished it. Side by side with the hideousness of an entire ethnic group being verbally abused, psychologically tortured, and outright slaughtered one sees the humanity and ingeneousness of the author's family and friends as they struggle to simply survive.
