4.0 out of 5 stars An Old Friend Rediscovered November 25, 2003
Format:Audio CD
Before getting this CD, I hadn't heard any new material by Bobby Vee in nearly thirty-five years. This new set turned out to be very enjoyable and contemporary-sounding. I particularly enjoyed the two (yes...2 !) covers of great DEL SHANNON tunes..."That's the Way Love Is," and "Cry Myself To Sleep." As an unexpected bonus, I had the pleasure of seeing Bobby Vee headline an oldies show, in Baltimore, last week (11-20-03). It was my first time seeing him "live" and he did not disappoint. He and his sons did almost all of his biggest hits, as well as several of his less well-known tunes, such as "Walkin' With My Angel", "How Many Tears ?" and "Stayin' In". By all means, check out Bobby's newest CD, and go see him "live" should you get the chance !
