This is a funbook which tellso a lot about crime and punishment in England during the 18th century. When England could no longer send prisoners to the Americas due to our independence, they sent thousands to Australia.

With pictures and captions this book graphically tells the story of adults and children being punished for crimes as minor as stealing a loaf of bread.
