Book Description

This is the anticipated sequel to Confessions of a Male Nurse, the first novel by Richard S. Ferri, which was voted the Best Gay and Lesbian Novel of 2005, by InsideOut Books. This sequel follows the further hilarious and poignant adventures of its lead characters Steele and Storm, and their array of friends and colleagues.

Kate Clinton--With its gritty story lines, gutsy characters and dark humor, Wounded Healers is the AIDS plot line missing from every hospital drama series since the 1980s. Someone call Nurse Ratchet!

Sean Strub, Founder, POZ Magazine--"Rick Ferri's latest work is a fast-paced, engaging read with the circumstance, nuance and emotion so authentic that it could be recreated in words only by one who was there on the frontlines. Ferri's book is well-written and entertaining, to be sure, but it is also a profoundly truthful witness to a horrific time that is under-documented and too-often forgotten."

David Drake, Obie Award Winner, author of The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me--“In times of crisis, anxiety mounts for someone to step up and tell us a story teaming with passion, laughter, tears and by-the-seat-of-your-pants plot twists. A story to lift our spirits and see us through to that place called hope. With this heartfelt and hilarious new novel, Richard Ferri has done just that -- rushing forward with a heroically human story that absolutely lives up to its title.”

Deeply saddened that two wounded healers would think of taking their own lives. For over twenty years I've endured chronic pain. I have never thought of taking my pills and ending life that God has given too me! Those of us who have been called to be "Wounded Healers" carry the cross of our suffering Lord ! We all are God's children...He. didn't say one is better than the other.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wounded healers December 29, 2012
By Terence
I fell in love with the characters in confessions of a male nurse, now in wounded healers Richard S. Ferri has taken us on an incredible journey about love, loss, and life. This follow up to confessions of a male nurse was all I hoped it to be and more! Now I find myself not wanting this to be the end! I need to know how the story of steel and storm ends! Incredible job Mr. Ferri

3.0 out of 5 stars Too sad February 13, 2012

I loved the first Confessions of a Male Nurse. I found it funny and heart warming. But this sequel I just couldn't get around to liking it.

If your looking for HEA like the first one; this book isn't it.

It's sad... And I know it talks alot about HIV/AIDS and that message is probably the one thing I liked about the book.

The book is at times funny as well as sexy but still the ending is just... Gee the ending really ticks me off.

I love HEA and this book didn't do it like the first one.

The I's are dotted and the T's crossed grammer is fine. For it's message I give it five stars. But for it's sad and disappointing ending I give it three at best and that's weak.
