I want to start this off by saying, Wounded Women of the Bible would make an excellent Bible study course. I got reading it and just couldn't stop. And I know many people in my life who would be greatly helped by reading this book. Whether in a group setting or alone. This is for those women who are hurting, fearful, wounded, in pain, or anyone who knows somebody in that situation. And lets face it, we all know a woman who could be encouraged by reading this.

The whole concept of the book is going back to Scripture and showing people who have been through these situations before. We are talking every story under the sun and it is all woven into a picture of people today. I have to admit, I cried through a lot of it. Sure, I may not be going through something like these women have, but it really touches you and we can all relate to it in one way or another. Again, an excellent book that I would urge to be done as a study group. This is so real and something we need in our lives today!! Loved this one!!

I received a copy of this book for my review purposes. All thoughts are 100% mine.

Our Bible study class used this book study as our first study together. The class consists of single women-single, divorced and single on Sunday. The study really spoke to our ladies and met them where they were in life. The depth of the study was compelling. While the study focuses on woundedness, there are many lessons for people of all ages and backgrounds. These ladies Biblical authorship and personal insights were well fashioned, and they provided a source of deep discussion in our class. I would recommend the study for individuals, Bible study groups and men and women. The study, Wounded women of the Bible, will cause you to consider perspectives you may not have ever thought of before and introduce you to women in the Bible you did not even know existed.

This is absolutely the best book that I have ever read! Dena and Tina made this book so very interesting with what happened to the Wounded Women of the Bible and then the stories that they tell about things that happened to them and to their friends! There are so many things in this book that all of us women can relate to. I cried through so much of this book!
Thank you Dena Dyer and Tina Samples for such a wonderful book!

I received the extraordinary, heart-wrenching, prayerful, hopeful, joyful, wonderfully written, inspirational book, Wounded Women of the Bible: Finding Hope When Life Hurts by Dena Dyer & Tina Samples free through Goodreads First Reads.
Each chapter in the book is filled with wounded women in the Bible and stories that the authors share of themselves and others in similar circumstances going through hard times and having hope in God through it all. I found myself captivated by the women in the Bible and spending quality time looking up the chapter and verses in my Bible and reading and rereading the stories.
In the second chapter, I loved reading the story of Abigail, her husband Nabal's surly disposition, bringing supplies to David, and ending up being married to David. Chapter 11 was the heart breaking story of Jephthah's daughter, his vow to the Lord, and his daughter accepting the vow her father made to the Lord.
Read the outstanding, wonderful, inspirational book Wounded Women of the Bible: Finding Hope When Life Hurts by Dena Dyer and Tina Samples.

This was an amazing read that I highly recommend to anyone. It is easy to relate to. This explains all kinds of losses and helps to find hope among those losses. God can use pain and turn it into something beautiful for His Glory.
