This is the cream of the crop,

Much like Wow Gold that was released a few years ago, this is a retrospective from the vastly popular Wow series. Wow #1s takes a look at very best songs that were rated number 1. The difference between this cd and wow cd's that have been released since 1996 is that in order to get on this cd, the song must have been rated #1 and it doesn't matter which year it was released. If you, like me, own all of the Wow cd's, think of this cd like a greatest hits package from an artist that you own all of the albums for - it gives you 2 discs for all of the best music. This cd collection rates 5 stars for all the great music and the memories that it brings back. Listen and enjoy.

In Christ Alone!,

Let me start off by saying that the entire compilation was worth it, there are some very great performances on these CD's, and it's great to have my favorite songs featuring Avalon, Rachael Lampa, and others on a two disc set. I loved it, but what really stood out to me was this one song by Brian Littrell (who's already a platinum selling mega-star member of: The Backstreet Boys, no less) I absolutely enjoyed his soulful voice, the earnest plea and praise he offered to God in this song. I never expected to hear this side of him, simply amazing.

Great Collection of Hits!,

This review is from: Wow #1s (Audio CD)
This collection has lots of great hits from a wide variety of artists.
Out of the 30 songs included, there are only 2-3 that I don't really care for too much. On the other hand, there are 25 + tunes that I think are excellent. Artists on this CD include: DC Talk, Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, Rebecca St. James, Nicole C. Mullen, Sonic Flood, Jennifer Knapp, and many more. You can't go wrong with this album. I highly recommend it.

These CDs are great. There are only two songs that a actually do not like. Of the rest, all but a few songs are really good. A few songs that stand out are:
Disc 1 "Dive" by Steven Curtis Chapman: A really good song. Fast beat. "Place in This World" by Michael W. Smith: A good song with a good message. "In Christ Alone" by Brian Littrell: Kind of slow, but a very good message. "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me: A really good song with a very good message. I have heard two testimonies about how this song influenced someone to become a Christian. Disc 2 "Flood" by Jars of Clay: A little slow at first, but the pace picks up to make a fast paced song. Pretty good. "Jesus Freak" by DC Talk: My personal favorite on the CD. A fast paced song with a good message about not being ashamed about Christ. "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer: One of the two that I don't like on this CD. It is a love song that starts out with, "Kiss me. Baby..." and that is the farthest I have listened. "Stomp" by God's Property: The other song that I dislike. It is gospel and I am not a fan of gospel. "Big House" by Audio Adrenaline: A good song. The writer must like football: "A big, big house, with lots and lots of rooms. A big, big table, with lots and lots of food. A big, big yard, where we can play football...."! Overall, this is a very good CD with a good variety. Definitely worth multiple listenings. I definitely recommend this CD. Listen and enjoy.

Not sure what CD from what artist? WOW CD's are an excellent place to start your Christian music library. It provides a broad overview of Christian music so you can hone in on a style or artist that suits you. Christian music has come a long way toward a contemporary sound. My passengers don't even realize it is Christian music until they start singing along.

Nobody likes everything. I really loved the "blue disc" but didn't like the "gray disc" much. Someone did a really great job of categorizing and seperating the music by style. I like the "blue disc" an awful lot. It is well worth what I paid for it. The service was quick and trouble free. Overall I'm very satisfied.

This was the first CD I purchased from this series. The music is definitely uplifting. There is a wide variety of artists on this CD to suit anybody's taste. I do my work listening to the music and it is great for a stress buster.
I especially like 'Stomp' by Kirk Franklin. This is a combination of a large black choir with an excellent sense of rhythm conducted by Kirk who also sings. The instrumentation behind the music is very rhythmic and great. I usually like other styles of music, but this particular piece is great! It's great to take along in the car if you want to listen to something that is a stress buster and also a prevention of boredom.

The first thought that comes to my mind when I think of this two-disc collection is one word - WOW! (How appropriate.)
We start off on Disc 1 with Steven Curtis Chapman, who's won so many awards and sold so many albums that I almost faint when I hear his accomplishments. This #1, "Dive", is an extremely catchy song. I can't remember the first time I heard it (maybe at a skating rink years back?), but I just know that I've known it for a long time. Excellent song. Next we have Nichole Nordmeman, who I think is a little bit overrated. Of course she's decent on songs like "Brave" and such, but I have better female singers in my church praise team! "Holy" is definitely a worship song, talking about falling on your knees and singing "holy". Not the best, but good. Up next comes one of my dad's favorites of all time, Mercyme's "I Can Only Imagine". This song will just make you want to shout because you're so happy! It's a constant reminder that one day we will be going to a better place with Jesus. Incredible vocals--WOW! Track 4 features BackStreet Boy member Brian Littrell. I was certainly surprised when my sister told me one day that he was coming out with a Christian CD, because I didn't think he was a Christian! However, "In Christ Alone" (formerly done by Michael English... I THINK!) shows off Brian's voice talent--soothing to the soul. The words are amazing. Next comes FFH's "One Of These Days". This song is pretty good--a catchy one, at least. I'm not that familiar with this group, but I think everybody will like this song. "Big Enough" from Chris Rice is next, and unfortunately is one that is not my favorite at all. It's just seems boring to me, and his voice doesn't work for me. I've heard some of his songs before, and honestly, they're OK, but this one is dull and makes me wonder how it ever became a #1 hit. Amy Grant is the next artist on this disc, with her song "Lead Me On". The beginning starts a little strange at first, but then transforms into a faster chorus. The tune is great, and I was very surprised when I found myself singing this one all day. Great job, Amy! Next in the lineup is my sister's favorite male artist of all time--Mr. Michael W. Smith (sometimes referred to as "Smitty"). His song, "Place In This World", is one of my favorites for this disc. I enjoy his voice very much and thought this song was a definite highlight. Excellent work. Point Of Grace's "Gather At The River" is next. This is probably the only song I've heard of this all-girl group, but after hearing this song, it seems they're pretty good. Their voices blend perfectly, an ingredient that helped make this song a good one. "Redeemer" from vocal powerhouse Nicole C. Mullen is an incredible song! It talks about how Jesus has risen and how he lives today, and how he is with us every minute of every day--FANTASTIC WORK! Next comes my FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME (YEA!) Everyone please give it up for... AVALON! This quartet is fantastic, and on this album they show off their biggest smash, "Testify To Love". I think this song was the most-played song of the 90s (I THINK!) Anyway, I still love it, and think everyone should give it a listen to. Anyway, I think you get the picture: this WOW rocks!! All the other artists like Rachael Lampa, Mark Shultz, Jars Of Clay, Newsboys, DC Talk, and more are all incredible. EXCELLENT WORK--HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
