5.0 out of 5 stars He's definitely no "Yapping Poodle"...
Kyle's songs make me think of nice things. AM Radio (after all, I am 30 something), early Elton John songs, the joy of youth and the love of life. The man can write and play with the best of them and has a great set of pipes. I caught him performing recently and LOVED his passion and easy going demeanor. Like one reviewer said, Kyle just needs to be heard and you...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
After reading all the rave reviews here I couldn't wait to hear this album. After hearing it, I don't get it.

Musically, it's OK as I do appreciate the live (rather than synthesized) strings and horns, but the lyrics are very trite. Those who make comparisons to the 70's icons (that Vincent seems so desperate to emulate) well... he isn't there. I see no musical or...

Kyle's songs make me think of nice things. AM Radio (after all, I am 30 something), early Elton John songs, the joy of youth and the love of life. The man can write and play with the best of them and has a great set of pipes. I caught him performing recently and LOVED his passion and easy going demeanor. Like one reviewer said, Kyle just needs to be heard and you won't be sorry. And to the fellow who used the yapping poodle reference, are you talking about the same artist? If so, you are sadly missing out on a true talent.

Highly recommended for people who dig on early Elton, Bread, America, McCartney (and maybe some Beatles stuff), Brian Wilson or, yes, even Barry Manilow (ala Copa Cabana or Mandy period).

You will not be sorry as this guy's music is hooky and melodic. If this were a perfect world Kyle would be "Top 40" but I realize we live in a world that thinks Britney Spears or Limp Bizkit are talented. Unfortunate...

5.0 out of 5 stars For Eric Carmen fans, November 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Wow & Flutter (Audio CD)
Great disc. Kyle has a tremendous voice and the songs on this cd are filled with gorgeous melodies. Songs such as "Leave It Alone" and "She's Top 40" will stick in your head long after you've heard them. Fans of (especially) Eric Carmen, Bread, The Carpenters and even Barry Manilow, Air Supply and Elton John will not be disappointed.

Have you ever come home after a bad day or been stuck in traffic ready to pull your hair out?? I can assume most have. This cd will instantly take you out of that moment and bring you to a place in your heart we tend to sometimes forget is there. Your mind instantly drifts and you truly do feel "Young Again." He's a fantastic musician who just needs to be heard. Try him out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as his first, but still excellent, October 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wow & Flutter (Audio CD)
Kyle's second CD contains more of his polished pop gems. This disc is definitely worth a listen if you like chiming guitars and tuneful songs. There's nothing here as thrilling as "Wake Me Up (When the World's Worth Waking Up For)" or "Arianne" (both from his eponymous first album), but songs like "Jennifer" and "Van Gogh Sunset" have their sublime moments. Vincent wrote "She's Top 40", another imminently hummable tune, with Parthenon Huxley, whose late-'80's album SUNNY NIGHTS was grossly underappreciated in its time and is definitely worth looking for. For fans of Big Star or Badfinger, this album will have many charms, though Vincent lacks the grit (and hence some of the passion) of those classic popsters.

I meet Kyle in Vegas last year where he was doing a show at the Riviera. In person a great man on stage a man that is in my book awesome. He did a cover song on stage-and in a few others on his albums-from Eric Carmen. That is a very hard man to cover. He did it without any problem. This CD and all his work is amazing. Join his werb site and get special limited edition releases. I was in the music business for 25 years. I am hard to impress this artist did just that, impress me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kyle Vincent is a great singer!, August 17, 2005
This review is from: Wow & Flutter (Audio CD)
How can someone who call him- or herself a music fan claim that Kyle Vincent can't sing?! He has a truly fantastic voice. I remember the first time I heard him sing in Candy and I was totally blown away immidiately. By the way, if you love Kyle Vincent be sure to pick up a copy of the truly pop classic Candy - Whatever Happaned To Fun. Perhaps the best record ever.

As far sa I know Kyle Vincent went solo after Candy. He has made several records and I hold this as his best solo-project in tuff competition with Don't You Know.

This is perhaps not a masterpiece in the way that Candy's full-length was in 1985 but it is a truly great record full of catchy songs and thoughtful and beautiful lyrics from one of the best singers in pop today.

I was fortunate enough to see Kyle Vincent open for Barry Manilow several years ago, and loved his style and talents back then. It took me several tries to finally get a copy of his first CD, and I have almost worn it out. I was so happy to see he has others released - and I have bought them all.

This album is just as good if not better than his first. I love "No Matter What Will Be", even the whistling in between verses! His talents for both writing and performing are evident on this - I can't wait to get the other CD's I ordered.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Wow & Flutter, February 20, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Wow & Flutter (Audio CD)
I think Wow & Flutter is an incredible album. Some of the most heart touching lyrics and melodies imaginable! Though I loved Kyle's self-titled album also, W&F has so much more "reach inside & carry you away kind of music". Kyle's voice is awesome. The production & arrangements are perfect for his gorgeous voice. And the harmonies are Killer! "Leave it Alone" being a perfect example of that.

"No Matter What Will Be" can do no less than steal your heart. And "Van Gogh Sunset", makes me want to run back to my childhood and take back all the moments I let slip away!

One of my other faves on the Album is "Everyday Thing". Gotta love the R&B roots of this one! Just helps show another side of Kyle's musical diversity!

No doubt in my mind or my heart, this is a 5 star CD & one of 1999's best!
