5.0 out of 5 stars I don't have a Fobia for this band
A very good Rock band from Mexico. This is a great sampler of what these guys can do. Drummer Jay de la Cueva, who is one of the very best drummers in Mexico, played the bass for a late 80's Rock band called MicroChips.

3.0 out of 5 stars Again, could have been better
Fobia is a very good rock band from Mexico that makes quirky pop-rock songs with very diverse themes such as science fiction. Again I have a complaint about this album, why do artists when they release compilations (bests of, GH) they include live songs, I agree with the reviewer that points out that almost half of the album is drawn from "Fobia on Ice", a live album. All we want to hear is the best songs, not live songs or artists favorites, only the best. The 2 new songs are OK but doesn't compare to their past work. this would have been the ideal track listing for me:

1. Mas Caliente que el sol

2. Hoy tengo miedo

3. El microbito

4. La iguana

5. El crucifijo

6. El diablo

7. Camila

8. El cerebro

9. Los Cibernoides (it's a sin that this song is not included)

10. Perra policia

11. Regresame a Jupiter

12. Veneno vil

13. Revolucion sin manos

14. Hipnotizame

15. Under pressure.

This is all they needed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hoy tengo miedo, November 21, 2004

Without a doubt Fobia proved many wrong about their never-mentioned break up by producing two new songs along with a compilation of their best songs. Right up there with Caifanes/Jaguares, Maldita, and Cafe Tacuba, Fobia is one of the flagship bands of Mexican Rock. "Mas caliente que el sol" (Hotter than the sun) and Hoy tengo miedo (Today I'm afraid) show their unique style which has not changed as if 1995 wasn't the last year they produced a studio album. More is expected from this band with the release of a new album in 2005. Like all good bands, they keep reinventing themselves, without losing their signature eccentric lyrics and music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great band, December 9, 2004

While this guys are a little to crazy for me, theres no denying that they are without a doubt one of the most, if not the most talented latin Rock band out there.

While I consider myself a huge Mana fan , and I also like Jaguares and La Ley... when it comes down to it, Fobia may be most talented of them all. The only thing that stops me from calling fobia the best latin band ive ever heard is the fact that I cant get into their old stuff. I LOVE their music from the mid 90s (mostly whats on the "Amor chiquito" album), but i cant get into the older stuff... while i like every single Mana album there is.

So if i had to rank the bands , i would rank Mana # 1, Fobia # 2, and La ley has an edge on Jaguares for # 3.

Still, I saw fobia performing at the mexican show called "Otro rollo" and the chimestry seems to be gone. I hope im wrong.

Fobia's drummer is just insane... hes really good. Not quite Alex Gonzalex from Mana (that guy is amazing), but he is really really good too.

5.0 out of 5 stars FOBIA IS THE BEST ROCK BAND NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, May 16, 2004

I think that fobia is the best spanish rock band in the world at the moment, because back in the good old 80s a band that went by the name of Caifanes started a music revolution, but they do not exist anymore, and fobia, in the present day, are starting to hit big, with their new single "hoy tengo miedo" which trust me its much better thatn any balad in english right now. A few "must listen" are: Revolucion sin manos, veneno vil(listen to the drums on this one) hoy tengo miedo, hipnotizame and microbito. Well in fact listen to the whole thing, but if you are some sort of ignorant redneck that believes that the only good rock is in english, please dont buy something that someone else more educated in the subject could ok? just go off chasing your own ass, and buy some more beer. Ohh yeah something else, try to open up to different types of music that are not in your language, because thats the only way to discover the true rock culture, and trust me, its not easy, but once you do it, you can see that there's a talent much more impressive outside the States, its only waiting to be discovered.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fobia is a great band but...., May 26, 2004

Jaguares are better than these guys. CAIFANES and HEROES DEL SILENCIO are no question that are better than them, but Jaguares (even though their last cd was so and so) are still better than FOBIA. Don't get me wrong, FOBIA is in my top 5 bands of Spanish rock, but talking about current bands at the moment, Jaguares still keep grownling them out.
