Not disappointed! Best one to come out in a while!,
By
This review is from: Wow Gospel 2003 (Audio CD)
I have all 6 wow gospel albums (from 1998 to 2003), and I must say that this is truly the best one to come in a while, in fact since 1999! Yes, that's right! Since 2000, I just could not get into them overrall, while maybe listening to a song or two in a while. They're all good to have though, but I like 1998 the best, with 1999 and now 2003 following. I like 2001 the least, with 2000 and 2002 just above respectively.Alrighty, now this new one, I must say that there are some excellent song choices like "I Need You Now", "Praise is What I Do", "The Best Is Yet to Come", among many others. Overrall, not since 1999 have I really enjoyed it as a whole and can just play without skipping so much (well, maybe sometimes). The only thing I'm disappointed with is that there are songs as old as 2000 and even older on here like Mary Mary's "Can't Give Up Now" and Yolanda Adam's song. Hopefully for the next one the label(s) won't do that. But this one deserved to be the best-selling one yet!

DISAPPOINTED!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wow Gospel 2003 (Audio CD)
I USUALLY DON'T WRITE REVIEWS BUT FELT VERY COMPELLED TO DO SO THIS TIME. I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF THE WOW GOSPEL SERIES SINCE THE BEGINNING. I HAVE PURCHASED ALL SIX COMPILATIONS. IT SEEMS THAT THE EARLIER COMPILATIONS WERE THE VERY BEST AND THE LATTER ARE "DUDS". I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH WOW GOSPEL 2003 BECAUSE OUT OF 33 SONGS, I PERSONALLY WILL HAVE REPEAT LISTENING OF ONLY 6 OF THEM. THESE 6 BEING, "I NEED YOU NOW", "BEAUTIFUL", "IN THE SANCTUARY", "PRAISE IS WHAT I DO", "THERE'S NOBODY LIKE JESUS" AND "CAN'T GIVE UP NOW". I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND WHY JOANN ROSARIO'S "MORE,MORE,MORE" WASN'T INCLUDED. I MUST SAY THAT IT'S VERY DISAPPOINTING BECAUSE ITS SUPPOSE TO BE THE GREATEST HITS OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR, YET THERE SEEMS TO BE THIS GOING BACK 2 OR 3 CDS AGO FOR SONGS FROM GREAT ARTISTS LIKE YOLANDA ADAMS, DONNIE MCCLURKIN AND KIRK FRANKLIN. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOLANDA ADAMS MOST RECENT HITS. WHY ISN'T "I OPEN UP MY HEART" INCLUDED. JUST AS TWO WOW GOSPEL CDS AGO, DONNIE MCCLURKIN'S "WE FALL DOWN" WAS LISTED AS BEING A PART OF THE COMPILATION, BUT WHEN IT WAS RELEASED, THE SONG WASN'T EVEN INCLUDED. IT'S REGRETTABLE THAT I HAVE TO SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY ON A CD THAT IS LESS THAN MEDIOCRE. ... THE BACK OF THE CD COVER SAYS THIS IS THE BEST GOSPEL MUSIC COMPILATION THUS FAR. I BEG TO DIFFER. SO THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE MY LAST LOYALTY PURCHASE OF THE WOW GOSPEL COMPILATIONS UNLESS THE POWERS THAT BE CHOOSE TO INCLUDE THE "GENUINE HITS" IN FUTURE COMPILATIONS.

this is again a bad collection,

This wow gospel 2003 is an insult to gospel music. do the people at verity listen at all to true radio, or are they just in the business of supporting their own artists? Where is Kirk's Hosanna, Cece's Anybody Wanna Pray, Yolanda Adams Never Give Up, or Nicole C Mullen's Call on Jesus? I am disappointed that they always include Yolanda's old hits. How about her new music? How about Mary Mary's new song "In the Morning? Nicole C Mullen is a black artist and she sings gospel.

ONE AWESOME SONG,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wow Gospel 2003 (Audio CD)
I AGREE WITH THE REVIEWER ABOUT THE SONG "PRAISE IS WHAT I DO". IT IS AN AWESOME TRIBUTE TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. IT PLACES EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE OF LIFE IN ITS PROPER PERSPECTIVE WHEN I LISTEN TO IT. IN MY PREVIOUS REVIEW I STATED SIX SONGS THAT I WOULD HAVE REPEAT LISTENING ON. THAT HAS CHANGED. UNFORTUNATELY, I FIND THAT THIS ONE SONG IS NOW THE ONLY SONG THAT I CARE TO LISTEN TO FROM THIS CD. SOON IT WILL BE WORN OUT. THAT'S HOW MUCH I LISTEN TO IT. HOWEVER, THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT ONE SONG DOES NOT MAKE A CD!! I COULD HAVE JUST PURCHASED THE SHEKINAH MUSIC MINISTRY'S CD FOR THIS ONE SONG. IN FACT, I THINK I WILL BECAUSE THEY HAVE REALLY REPRESENTED WELL WHAT IT MEANS TO GIVE THE HIGHEST PRAISE TO THE LORD. MY HOPE IS THAT THE VERITY RECORD EXECUTIVES WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO READ THESE REVIEWS AND LISTEN TO THE CONCERNS OF THE CONSUMER OF THEIR PRODUCTS. PERHAPS THEN WOW GOSPEL 2004 WILL BE WORTH THE MONEY AND THE LISTENING.

Praise The Lord...WOW Gospel has returned!!,

This review is from: Wow Gospel 2003 (Audio CD)
This compilation is the BEST of the WOW Gospel series in 3 years. Even Zomba thinks so, as the back CD cover says this is the most successful installment. No disrespect to WOW Gospel 2000-2002, but this compilation is just as good as 1998 & 1999 (which I consider the best). Maybe it's because of the quality of artists this past year or something else. The music is funkier, soulful, praiseworthy, and worth repeated rotation. Progressive/Urban Gospel listening folks won't be disappointed in Disc 1. It alone is worth the price. Too many standouts to name, but 'King of Glory', 'God Has Not 4Got', 'That Ain't Nothin', 'Anyhow', 'Beautiful', and 'Without Him' are my favorites. I can't listen to Disc 1 without playing Tonex's 'God Has Not 4Got' and 'Anyhow' at least twice.

This compilation is a blessing!,

I love it! I love it! There are so many songs on this compilation that minister to me. I listen to the first CD when I need to meditate on God's promises--"God Has Not Forgot," "I Need You Now," "Heard A Word," "Tabernacle," and "Superman" are all wonderful songs that bless me over and over again. The second CD ushers me into my personal praise and worship time -- "Sanctuary," "Praise Anthem," "Praise is What I Do," "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus," and others more than do the job. I can't stop listening to this CD. It has a song for whatever mood I'm in -- songs that help me to remain in God's loving presence. I recommend this CD to all.

Not What I Expected,

I loved WOW Gospel 2002! I thought the follow up would have the same impact or better which turned out to be a bit disappointing. I like Praise is What I do, Anthem of Praise, and a couple others. WOW 2002 is 100X better than 2003. On 2003, they have an old Yolanda Adams song from one of her old CDs (not even the most recent one). I was surprised Kirk Frankin wasn't on it. Save your $! If you haven't purchased WOW Gospel 2002 please do!

This CD is amazing,

From "God has not forgot" to "Secret Place" to "He's the Greatest" this CD is amazing. I've never listened to a Wow Gospel CD where I did not skip over a single song. Songs that you can dance and shout to or sit and relax while meditating to, truly a great buy especially for the price. I think Wow has outdone themselves and finally a CD worthy of the reputation.

I love all of the WOW CD's. This was not my favorite but it was pretty good. I love the "Anthem of Praise", "I Need You Now", and "Praise is What I Do". I would recommend this CD for inspiration, and for praise and worship. It really inspires me.

Diappointed as well,
This review is from: Wow Gospel 2003 (Audio CD)
Like so many of the previous reviewers I am disappointed by the cd. I also noticed that the cd has on it that this is the best compilation ever and I beg to differ. First of all I thought the pupose of WOW was to give you the top songs for the previous year...seems to me lots of these songs were very old. They have been out for quite sometime. Now if they wanted to use these songs and didnt use them when they were out they should come out with a WOW Gospel Mixture Cd or something but I think they should stick to putting the songs that were made in the previous year. Im not certain if they are putting the songs that were popular even though they were made 3-4 years ago could that be what they are doing?
