every Christian must have,

If you love contemporary Christian music and praise & worship music, this has to find it's way into your CD collection. I listen to this over and over and never tire of it. There are so many artists and such a wonderful selection of music on the CD that if I was stuck on a desert isle with only 1...okay this is a 2 CD set, so if I only had 2 CDs to take to my island, I'd pick the blue & silver CDs from WOW 2003. Trust me, it's worth the $... you'll shell out for it.

While I will admit that this year they have a lot of really great songs- I think that many really do represent what the best in Christian Music is- it still seems to stay on the same groups as ususal, even if the CD's have been released quite some time ago. I find there is really no crtiterion to get on WoW, except that if your band is on the Big Three of Christian Music you have a better chance. I wish they would use some sort of real measure first, like CD sales or radio ratings, and then have a broad judging panel, and also bring in songs from smaller bands and more obscure groups. I hate the Camoflouge song- it's bad! Usually Plus One is good, but it sounds so weird! Yet, then again, all music is just a matter of opinion. The end word: buy the CD, mainly because any CD collection cannot hurt with it's addition. And some songs are REALLY good, most notably the one from Third Day (Come Togehter) and from Racheal Lampa (I'm All Yours).

I admit I have only heard about 2 or 3 WoW sets but this is my favorite. I like the seperation of the different styles of rock and pop and here is the way they are situated:On the first disc it contains the soft rock and slow pop My favorite disc is the second one but the first one has its highlights. I just prefer disc two overall. Well, anyway, pick up this CD while its still cheap and pick up WoW Gold which has some of the best Christian music from the 70s 80s and 90s!

WoW! Um, how 'bout just "Hmmm!",

For the seventh consecutive year, Wow offers a collection of highlights from the contemporary Christian music genre. As a whole, there's a nice mix of styles and artists here. The strongest tracks come from seasoned performers in this genre such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Jars of Clay, and Newsboys. All five of these artists have featured prominently in the Wow series, and will likely continue to do so. Jennifer Knapp, Selah, Rebecca St. James, and Audio Adrenaline also make a strong showing. Ironically, two of the best tracks on this collection come as bonus features, Chris Tomlin's 'Enough and Paul Colman Trio's 'Turn.' Unfortunately, not everything is golden here. Some of the younger artists like Zoegirl, Jump5, and Stacie Orrico have much to learn from their more mature peers in the industry. In a genre vulnerable to saccharine overload and lyrical cliches, this collection suffers from Christian music's inherent weakness, the difficulty of offering a fresh, meaningful perspective on life as a child of God in a musically inventive or original way.

Good selection,

The WOW 2003 hits DVD contains a wide variety of music videos from the music album, and I was pleasantly surprised by some of them! Although I had my favorites, most of the videos are well done and deserve credit for that. There are also a couple of duds, but I won't mention any names. All in all, it's a good deal and a great addition to any DVD collection, especially for music lovers, WOW fans, or those looking for something new to listen to. Enjoy!

The first WoW album I ever bought was WoW 1998, which had a great mix of songs and artist for the time. But aftere that the mix was pretty Amy/Micheal/Jars heavy. The 2000 album was OK, 2001 really good, but then 2002 stumbled a bit. But 2003 has really redeemed the series. The song selection criteria has been srengthened according to CCM Magizene, half the songs are #1 hits of the past year, the other are at least in the top 15 of their respective charts. A wider mix appears like Selah's "Wonderful, Merciful Saviour" from the Praise genre, "Irene" by TobyMac from the Rap/R&B, and Rock chick Jennifer Knapp's "Say, won't you say" An all together pretty awesome album.

As a recently converted Christian, I am new to Christian music as well. This 2 cd set was a GREAT way to familiarize myself. There were very few (maybe 2 or 3) songs I didn't care for and I've discovered several groups that touch my heart and make me feel closer to Jesus. He Lives!
