Dude. You're playing a PAPER guitar. How cool is that? Okay, to be fair, it's actually kind of plasticy, but no strings, no callouses, no real talent needed!
Consider what you'd have to pay for a Rock Band/Guitar Hero bundle, or even a DS with Jam Sessions and the $25 price starts looking like a no-brainer. You've gotta be the world's biggest stick-in-the-mud if you can't get $25 worth of enjoyment out of this little cutie. If nothing else, marvel at the technology that makes this possible. Amps and drums are also available for advanced neighbor-annoyance.
There are six styles of guitar, and each comes with three songs. This model has Born To Be Wild, Mississippi Queen and Smoke On The Water. You can also play freestyle, and strum your own chords, and that's where the real fun is.
Needs 3 AAA batteries and a Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment. Rule of thumb for pretty much everything: If you're having trouble, read the instructions.

I ordered this for my 5 year old for his birthday after her saw it on a TV commercial and asked for it. The designs are all very cool. We opted for the shark design. My 5 year old LOVE it! We also later purchased the amplifier and now I see there are drums that go with it as well so we'll mostly likely buy those too. I don't know how durable this stuff is, it is really just cardboard. However, as much as my son enjoys it and for the low price we paid, even if he gets limited fun and use out of it, it was worth it.

My wife got this for our 11 yr old son who plays keyboard in an aspiring 6th grade rock band. He doesn't play guitar, but secretly wants to. In any case, what I thought was some sort of gimmicky toy turned out to be absolutely terrific. I am sorry that the freestyle mode didn't seem to work for another reviewer, because that is where the action is; it totally sounds and acts like a real guitar, except you cant play a bad chord. It sounds frighteningly real, particularly with the "paper amp". I though I had a real electric guitarist in the house. It's a toy, not a real instrument, but what they've stuffed into this $20 package is pretty cool, and any kid (or adult, w/some kid in 'em) who dreams of rockin' out on stage will probably love it!

Fun Guitars to Jam with
I bought 6 of these for my grandson for Christmas, he loves everyone of them. We hung them all over his walls for easy grabbing. Sounds great through the amplifier.

Cool toy but somewhat limited.
Enjoyable toy with some neat features but too few songs and a lack of upgrading makes it a somewhat quick to tire of.
