Simply this is by far the coolest guitar toy I have ever seen....and I've seen alot.
you can play 4 different ways: 1. play along with preset song 2. take the words out play guitar solo 3. let the guitar sing while you play 4. freestyle and play whatever you want It's super easy to play. I already figured out how to play some things with out the music and i've only had it two days. While you can tell its not a real guitar sound it is still more real sounding than most toys. I'm 24 and it's still major fun...i would recomend this for almost any age. I definately want to get some of the other models as well.

My seven year old son just got one of these guitars and he has played with it every day. He doesn't get bored too quickly because it has several different settings, which he figured out how to change by himself.
One of the best things about it is that you can plug headphones into it, so he can play in any room without disturbing us or his big brother! This is definitely worth buying, lots of fun.

We were going to purchase this item for my 8 year old until we found out that one of the songs that comes preloaded is called "Take it Off" by the Donna's. Here are the lyrics. Thanks for marketing this garbage to my kids.....we didn't buy it.
Take it Off I'm on my second drink But I've had a few before... I'm tryin' hard to think And I think that I want you on the floor Uh huh, yeah on the floor! [Chorus] Go on and take it off (echo) Take it off! You gotta shake it off baby, for me C'mon and break me off (echo) Break me off! 'Cause I get what I want and I like what I see Need your love 1,2,3 Stop starin' at my D cup Don't waste time, just give it to me C'mon baby, just feel me up C'mon, just give it up [Chorus] Go on and take it off (echo) Take it off! You gotta shake it off baby, for me C'mon and break me off (echo) Break me off! 'Cause I get what I want and I like what I see Forget the application... You're the right guy for the task Let me take you on vacation Just do it, you don't have to ask! [Chorus] Go on and take it off (echo) Take it off! You gotta shake it off baby, for me C'mon and break me off (echo) Break me off! 'Cause I get what I want and I like what I see Take it off (echo) Take it off! Take it off baby, for me Take it off (echo) Take it off! Take it off baby, for me.

All the ads and videos I've seen for this states it's just like a real guitar...VERY misleading. I play a REAL guitar and Paper Jamz is basically like playing guitar hero. It doesn't matter which string you strum because the strummer is basically a push button. Same with the frets...just a push button in the middle of them all. I was very disappointed, I bought one just for something I could haul around that wasn't as big and heavy as a real one and was extremely excited to hear about this one. If you want to, or if your kids want to learn a real guitar don't get them this. If you're just getting them one to pass the time or just have fun with it's worth the money. It is durable, and the price is comparable to what you get.

The included songs are not kid friendly... some of the lyrics are borderline vulgar. The modes are awkward to navigate. Very poorly designed for children to use. They tried to make a system that uses the frets to make key changes, but it is of absolutely no learning value... it doesn't corresponded to a guitar, the intervals aren't like a guitar and don't make sense musically. Waste of $20. However if a kid isn't going to learn guitar then it night be okay as purely a noise maker.

Make sure you know the songs and lyrics before you buy these for your children. Many of them have very vulgar lyrics that are inappropriate for kids.

It's rated for kids 8+ but my 6 yo had an easy time figuring it out after i showed him how to use it. It comes with three songs and a freestyle mode. You can change the volume on this to really loud or very soft by holding the volume button and sliding your hand up or down the neck of the guitar which i think it really cool, not to mention an audio jack that you can plug headphones into if you don't want to hear your kid playing it, or they can take it somewhere and do this without annoying everyone. My son has played with it everyday since he got it which was about 2 weeks ago. Most of the time i think boys toys are kind of lame, but i think this one was a very good buy. I like the songs it came with, and each guitar has 3 different ones, so depending on the kind you buy it will have 3 songs in it, each guitar style is different. you change the modes by holding the mode button and placing your finger on the frets. each fret has a label right above it on the side of the neck that corresponds with the modes. Overall great buy, very happy.
Also do not buy this if you think you are going to get something that sounds like a real guitar. Its not. However i think it sounds very good for the money.

This is great for a small child; my 3 year old is enjoying it. I wouldn't buy it for someone who is serious about learning to play the instrument.
One con for a small child is that when it is turned off and then on, it goes back to default settings, so I have to get it back to the setting that my child or I want everytime. When my child gets a little older he will be able to understand how to change all the settings.

I bought my daughter a guitar, amp and pro mic for Christmas. The microphone quit working the next day. I have called the 800#, which no one ever answers, left messages and e-mailed. All with no response. The products are fun when they work properly, just hope they dont break the next day because you'll be stuck with trash and an unhappy kid.

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter and she plays with it non-stop. She loves the song modes because she isn't old enough to understand the free-style mode. I will def. buy other models in the future.
