5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely the best WOW CD
We were amazed at the strong list of worship songs, most of them our top favorites, all on one CD. Some were remakes, not by the orginal artist, and even that worked together with the worship atmosphere, giving some favorites a fresh sound, proving the music is transendent of artist or time. Absolutely wonderful performances, great rythms, hot guitars, soul touching...

3.0 out of 5 stars Wow Worship Yellow
The songs done by the original artists are 5 star, but the ones sung by stand-in artists are 1 star, which dilutes the value of the entire CD. Examples of extreme disappointments are: Awesome God NOT sung by Rich Mullins, a really weak and poor rendition of Shout to the Lord NOT sung by Darlene Zscheck (I know I misspelled her name, sorry), Amy Grant's really weak and...

Some were remakes, not by the orginal artist, and even that worked together with the worship atmosphere, giving some favorites a fresh sound, proving the music is transendent of artist or time. Absolutely wonderful performances, great rythms, hot guitars, soul touching moments coming from the heart of the worshiper to the heart of God. It is an experience each and every time. I gave mine away, and will be ordering another copy. A great gift for any worshiper.

After several releases that were driven by songs, the people behind WOW decided to change things a little and release a worship project that included songs from well known artists. Thus this 2 disc set was born. The songs themselves are either well loved worship songs or newer self-penned songs. They range from the classic ("Oh Lord, You're Beautiful" by Keith Green, "He is Exalted" by Twila Paris, and "Step by Step" by Rich Mullins) to modern hits with a worship focus ("God of Wonders" from CITY ON A HILL, "Your Love Oh Lord" by Third Day, Amy Grant's version of "Imagine," and "Redeemer" by Nicole C. Mullen). While the majority of the 33 songs (3 bonus tracks are included) are from previously released projects, 5 of the songs are brand new recordings.

While the style covers a broad spectrum, the focus is clearly on praising God with heart, mind, and soul. There is something here for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, January 31, 2004

This is an awesome CD; I'd recommend it to just about anyone, whether you're simply curious about worship music, or even if you've known about it for years. There really is something for everyone on this CD, and it all praises God, which makes it a complete package. I'd highly suggest listening to Caedmon's Call's version of Majesty and Jeff Deyo's verion of More Love More Power when you want a high-energy kick, and Jars of Clay's version of Be Thou My Vision when you're feeling more meditative, and there are other songs that will fit whatever you're feeling. It's definitely a good CD, and one that I wouldn't want to be without.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing compellation., March 13, 2004
This review is from: Wow Worship: Yellow (Audio CD)
When I first received this two-disc set, I was a little hesitant (I had been a fan of the "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" compellations and had actually never heard a WOW one before). Once I really took the time to listen through all the songs (there are 33!), I was truly amazed. There are some great classics, such as Twila Paris's "He is Exalted," as well as Michael W. Smith's "Awesome God" (which is a very powerful way to start out the CD). But there is a wide variety of refreshing, new songs as well. It's the perfect blend. I tend to listen to "Our Love is Loud" (one of the bonus songs) when I want a high-energy song, and "God of Wonders" for a meditative mood. But my favorite song, by FAR, on this CD is "In Christ Alone." It is just amazing...the lyrics are incredibly powerful, and the sound is inexplicably uplifting. I would recommend this CD just to hear that song alone, but luckily everything else is great too -- definitely buy this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspires & Touches Your Spirit, April 7, 2003
By A Customer

I own several of the Wow cd's and this one is the best. It contains some of the best versions of popular songs like Michael Smith's inspiring "Awesome God," Katinas' "Draw Me Close," (the best), 4 Him's "Thy Word" and Rebecca St. James' "Breath." Other songs are great too: Hungry, You are My All in All, You are my King and Heart of Worship. I play this CD all the time and played it for friends, tears flowed. A wonderful gift cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME CD!!!!!!, June 4, 2003

I purchased this CD last week and I can't stop playing it! As soon as I wake up to until I go to bed, I am listening to this CD! It is truly the greatest. It has a combination of uplifting songs ("Forever"), country ("The Happy Song") and slow, inspiring songs ("You Are My All in All"). Basically, it will get you in the mood for anything.
(By the way, my entire family loves this CD. From my 52 year old father to my 6 year old brother, (and I'm 16) we all are constantly listening to the songs; whether at home, in the car or at the kitchen table. SO, this CD is for ALL ages!)

4.0 out of 5 stars good variety of music, April 5, 2005
This review is from: Wow Worship: Yellow (Audio CD)
I love these two cds and believe anyone of any age would enjoy them. They are terrific contemporary worship songs that point our minds to God. My favorite songs are "All in all" by nichole nordeman, "In Christ alone" by geoff moore and Adreinne Liesching, and "Your Love, O Lord" by Third day. There were a couple songs I didn't really care for like Out of Eden's version of "Every Move I Make", "Let Everything That Has Breath" performed by Matt Redman (I like the original version done by Cademan's Call on the City on a Hill cd much better.), and "The Happy Song" by by Delirious. They are not horrible songs though. All the songs sounded up to date, no 80's sounding stuff. If you are looking for great pop worship songs that aren't too loud but not too quiet and boring either, then this is the cd for you.
