This works like it is intended to, but the first use, the plastic tray you set the bacon on started to melt in small areas. My husband thought that the handle was attached to the cup and released it to spill all over the floor. I wish the cooker was ceramic. I bought one of these for my mom after seeing her prepare bacon in the microwave for an otherwise simple lunchtime sandwich. This thing is a great little idea; no splattering grease, no nasty paper towels or anything left behind. For her particular microwave (800w I believe; quite small), it came out to about one minute per slice to achieve the desired result.
I have read other reviews saying to be careful about burning the device; I can understand that, as it does get fairly hot in the microwave. Plus, it requires a little different method to cook. I found that, after six minutes in the microwave, the slices of bacon weren't quite as crisp as we wanted, but after leaving them to sit in the cup for a couple of minutes while doing other things in the kitchen, they crisped-up well. I believe the delay is due to the enclosed nature of the device holding more moisture inside. Let the bacon air out for a minute after cooking and it seems to be just right.

It cooks bacon beautifully and conveniently, but after about the ninth or tenth use, the inside bottom of the plastic cup buckled, warped, and began to disintegrate. I politely wrote WowBacon twice about the issue, but two weeks later there has been ZERO response. Can't recommend.
