Wowbacon Microwave Bacon Cooker

This works like it is intended to, but the first use, the plastic tray you set the bacon on started to melt in small areas. My husband thought that the handle was attached to the cup and released it to spill all over the floor. I wish the cooker was ceramic. CrispyClean® Bacon cooker - the ONLY totally enclosed cooker for microwaves on the market

I bought one of these for my mom after seeing her prepare bacon in the microwave for an otherwise simple lunchtime sandwich. This thing is a great little idea; no splattering grease, no nasty paper towels or anything left behind. For her particular microwave (800w I believe; quite small), it came out to about one minute per slice to achieve the desired result.

I have read other reviews saying to be careful about burning the device; I can understand that, as it does get fairly hot in the microwave. Plus, it requires a little different method to cook. I found that, after six minutes in the microwave, the slices of bacon weren't quite as crisp as we wanted, but after leaving them to sit in the cup for a couple of minutes while doing other things in the kitchen, they crisped-up well. I believe the delay is due to the enclosed nature of the device holding more moisture inside. Let the bacon air out for a minute after cooking and it seems to be just right.

It cooks bacon beautifully and conveniently, but after about the ninth or tenth use, the inside bottom of the plastic cup buckled, warped, and began to disintegrate. I politely wrote WowBacon twice about the issue, but two weeks later there has been ZERO response. Can't recommend.

We used this product for 6 months in our small coffee shop (Maya's Coffee & Smoothie Bar in Sanur, Bali). It is excellent and the idea is brilliant...

The only thing is that the plastic melted and basically after nearly 6 months we ended up with a broken Bacon Cooker. In fact the Bacon cooker gradually broke down. First our cover broke (after 4 months) and then today unfortunately we got a small plastic hole in the bottom of the bacon cooker.

Funnily I still would like to buy the product. However I hesitate since I know the plastic has such a poor quality. I would have easily paid a premium price for the product (around 50 USD) if it had much higher quality plastic.

The WowBacon cooker is wonderful. I never thought bacon made in a microwave oven could ever be like pan fried. This product makes
bacon crisp and delicious. The grease drips off the strips and collects in the bottom of the cup which makes it even better than pan fried.

This gadget really works!! I just received it yesterday and used it immediately. It was easy to put together and the bacon came out crispy. As the directions suggest you have to gage how much time to cook based on your preference and the wattage of your microwave. Mine is only 900 watts and it took (3) minutes for perfectly cooked bacon without all of the mess. I'm glad I made the purchase. Highly recommend!

Wow Bacon works great when you adjust time for your desired level of doneness.However please note the following, it is plastic and if it gets too hot it will melt or warp.I have tried other microwave cookers in the past but this is by far the best and easiest to clean.Some helpfull hints,empty the grease after each batch and to keep the plastic from melting or warping rinse the unit in cold water before reuse to solve this problem. You dont need to dry the unit and it will not effect the quality of the bacon.For best cleaning results when you are done cooking put a squirt of dishwashing liquid in container and fill with hot water, drop the bacon paddle in and twirl back and forth a few times and it will prevent staining.Then you can clean as usual or let it sit and clean later. Doing these few simple things will make this unit last a long time. I have had mine for a few months now at least 20 batches and its still like brand new!Hope this helps!

It's the best microwaved bacon I've had...but it's not pan fried.
Lack of mess is great; but can't use the grease for anything else.
Cup fills with lots of water; the bacon is almost steam cooked in this thing.
So, if you cook it about 9 minutes you get fairly crisp less greasy bacon.
Well worth the money.

Great product! Bacon cooks crisp and fat collects in the bottom. Keeps your microwave clean too.

Everyone who likes bacon should have one of these. It cooks bacon so evenly with a nice crisp. No mess is such a bonus. I love it!
