Just bought a second of these after my son accidentally left his behind at a hotel. He doesn't play with it a lot, but obviously he likes it since he wanted another one. The first one, which we bought more than a year ago, was anything but cuddly. The fur was soft, but you could feel the plastic housing right under the surface. Not a toy I'd want to snuggle with. The one we just received seems to have an updated design with more stuffing, making it better as a stuffed animal.

This seal pup is my son't favorite toy. Even a year later he takes this on every camping trip or nights at grandma's. Still works perfect and fur cleans up amazingly well for being totally white! highly recomment to anyone with an animal loving child. My son has even taken to researching about seals so he knows more about his 'baby'.

Don't believe what you read..."With super-soft fur and a totally realistic look" "huggable"....It looks awful...nothing like the picture...doesn't have the big bright eyes lucky if you can see them behind the fur...guess that is what $20 will get you these days...hopefully my 5-year-old will love it anyway...

what a worthless toy!! do not waste your money!! if it is defective there will be no support and you will have to pay to ship it back!!!!

We got these for our boys last Christmas. They love animals and wanted these because of the animation. They have probably played with them a total of an hour and most of the time they don't even bother turning them on. The animation is not much even when you try to reset it making sure its not on demo. We got the seal and the lion cub. They are okay, but they need to be deeply discounted and I see over the course of the year you can get them for about $25, instead of $60.

We got the seal and it is okay. Definitely not worth $50, that's for sure. It does some cool things like barking and making other odd noises, blinks, moves, but a lot of toys out there do that now. My daughter HAD to have this for Christmas, but has played with it all of 30 minutes since. It was a bit of a snoozer for her. She's 6, by the way. Maybe she's too old for it???? Good luck.
